Hi everyone, this is my first time on this site so I might sound slightly awkward.
My friend has a daughter in sec 1 and she wants to join ballet again. She had quit when she was p4 and was at cstd grade 4. What should she do?

may i know which school your girl is from and what her teacher name is? just curiouscool_hi:
Hi, I have problems with pm so I just reply here. My dd is with WingsToWings Dance Development Centre. She took grade 6 last year Apr and Intermediate foundation his year Aug. Based on my dd experience, grade 6 has more components and a longer syllabus where Intermediate foundation focus more on technique and there will be introduction of pointe work. To her grade 6 is harder because there are more exercises.
Hi Sam2kids, thanks for info!!
Your gal is so good to manage
so well!!
May i check how old is your gal?
So she has how many lessons per week?!?
Will it be confusing to prepare for 2 exams
(g6 and intermediate foundation) concurrently?
My gal took g5 RAD this yr..but stopped since jul due to psLe..
Contemplating betw taking g6 exam or intermediate fdn exam, both in April..
Or tAke Grade 6 exam in April 2018,
& then Intermediate Exam in 2019?(teacher say can skip intermediate fdn)
(& the grade 6 tchr+school,is not same as intermediate fdn school:)
Chapmummy,
U asking me? Sorry i missed your post..
Hope my info not too late..
My gal went Nafa Ballet for g1-3..
The senior tchr who is very good left,
So we switched to Attitude Dance studio,at bt timah plaza..after grade 5 exam, she stopped lessons for 3-4mths,with a lot to catch up,but she catch up quite fast and teacher allowed her to take intermediate foundation exam this year April..or can skip and take intermediate exam next year..
But from what i know,a lot of schools/teachers seldom allow skipping of exam..
if u keen to know who is her teacher,pm me..
Thanks -

Hi! U can check which ballet school allow trial lesson, for grade 5,let teacher assess her andHi everyone, this is my first time on this site so I might sound slightly awkward.

See whether her standard suits g5,& they can accept her?
Fyi, Attitude Dance studio at bt timah plaza allow free trial,if u decide to sign up after teacher assess and say can accept her, then the trial lesson is payable together with fees ..
If teacher says not suitable to join,or u decide not to join the class, then no need to pay for the trial class..
After trial for g5,U can also opt to trial other class Eg grade 4,to see whether the pace is more suitable..then decide which level to join..
Hope this helps!
(Disclaimer: i have no connection with Attitude Dance..merely sharing what i know for benefit of others as my gal had benefitted from their trial scheme..as i had a lot of trouble finding alternative ballet schools for her..able to go trial also can let student see whether they can adapt to teacher’s style of teaching, which is important in my opinion..) -

Hi,
here are some tips for picking a good ballet academy:
- qualifications and teaching (not just dancing) experience
- full fledged programme which is detailed out
- programmes dedicated to your child's age group and experience
- state of the facilities (safety!)
Took this from a https://youngdancersacademy.com.sg/2017/09/19/things-to-look-for-before-you-choose-a-ballet-dance-school/ blog.
Disclosure: this blog belongs to a ballet academy in the west of Singapore. -
Hi
I would like to find out more about grade 6 / IF exams. May I know after grade 5,
1. Is it go for IF exam after one year , followed by grade 6 exam after half a year?
Or
2. IF exam after one year followed by grade 6 one year later?
Or
3. Need to Choose to do either one only, after one year
Or
4. Do both exams concurrently after one year?
I’ve just heard various combinations and was wondering why, can anyone share which is the route your dd has taken, and why, and what was teacher’s explanation for the route chosen? Thank you very much. -
It depends on the teacher’s schedule and the student available time to attend classes. My DD just taken Grade 6 RAD exam and may be doing IF end of the year. This is provided the teacher can complete the syllabus in time for the IF exam. If not, she will take Grade 7 and IF next year.

My DD also taking 2 exams this year, grade 7 in early April and Intermediate in Sept.
