Hi hi!! Just want to let you know I finally enrolled dd in joo chiat cc, after spending some time talking to the teachers there and after attending 2 ‘trial’ classes with them. Felt comfortable with them and the proximity is definitely a major plus point. DD is really having great fun each lesson and i had also enjoyed every moment watching her.

Mrs skipp seems to be going into retirement. The teacher teaching pre pri and pri classes is Ms Tan but I am not sure what her full name is. mrs skipp is around to sometimes help, chit chat with parents. Everyone seems to know her. They aren’t really pushy and encourages you to even attend a few times until u or ur child is comfortable before signing up.
I am still observing how the class routine goes. They seem to do warm up but I thought lacking in stretching… As in those where u open your legs real wide and stretch. So far, only saw 1 out of 4 classes. The funny thing is u can hear all the "ouches" from majority of the kids.haha!
Any idea how a typically class routine for pre pri is like?
Ms Tan is really dedicated. Notice her every moves in class is all ballet styles. There was a class where she was doing the skips and ‘bicycle’ ride with them. The amount of sweat on her back is more than all kids combined !! -
Hi everyone, I have 2 gals, one 5 and one 6 years old. They are keen to take up ballet and when I ask "Why ballet?" They replied, "I like the costume!" LOL : )
I live in Upper Bukit timah area and so wanna look for schools around here. I think these are the following schools near me:
The Dance Station at Bukit timah Shopping Centre
ATTITUDE at BT Plaza
Joyful Steps and Rhythm at Clementi Arcade at Sunset Way.
Anyone has any feedback on the above or other studios to recommend?
My main concern is that DD1 is going to P1 next year so am not sure if I should start her on any ballet classes now… -
Best thing to do would be visit the above studio, let them attend trial lessons

P1 should be still fine for enrichment. I'm sec four now, and still doing ballet, though I've been taking a hiatus since July. -
hi Penghu,
happy to hear that your girl has settled down in ballet, enjoying it. wonderful !

It's fine to start your daughters on ballet classes. There's plenty of time for activities in P1-3. Some schools offer ballet as enrichment, so you may even consider doing ballet in school if time and distance are a consideration for you.Hi everyone, I have 2 gals, one 5 and one 6 years old. Thanks twilight and jtoh! Think will let them take a trial class at attitude studio and see if they like it. The only qualm i have about attitude studio is that they have a big yearly concert by the students and i believe all got to participate? There will be additional rehearsals and also extra cost involved for costumes.
Do all studios have this? I just want my kids to take ballet for fun. Dont wanna be too serious about it unless they are.
