My dd trained under RAD syllabus when she was 4 and now she is in Grade 6 level and started to join CSTD grade 6 Pointe last year in order to get onto pointe sooner. I enjoy more while watching RAD during their training as music is more pleasant and that the syllabus is softer and prettier, it is composed to suit the steps not the other way round so it really does flow.

Why isn't she doing Intermediate Foundation?

She is still with RAD Grade 6 (2nd year). when the same teacher opened a pointe CSTD class last year and she wanted to join in order to experience the “pain” earlier than expected.[/quote]From Grade 5, you can go into Intermediate Foundation (a vocational syllabus) or Grade 6. You can do pointe in both Inter Found and Grade 6, if your teacher deems you strong enough. I'm surprised the teacher opened up a separate CSTD Grade 6 class for pointe because pointe is taught in Inter Found and Grade 6 too.

Going en pointe is like a rite of passage. A lot of pain, blisters, bleeding.... :nailbite:
