Hi firefly 38,firefly38:
maybe my dd just joined and they think my dd need more help hahaaaa! AMK branch has an open carpark right in front of it ..so no lift conjestion..

Hi vlim, nice to 'see' you here! I am planning to sign up math tuition for my DS2 next year (too late for this year liao) and I am considering JEI or Concept Math. How do you find JEI? Good for playful kids like my DS2?
I am also sourcing for Eng, Chi & Sci tuition for DS2 next year (comparing with his gor gor who did not have any tuition except this year P6 for Eng only, sigh!).
We meet again Hahaaa ! I think its plus point is small class size and teachers are delicated. I haven't visited concept maths before so no comment abt it. I think u got to pay a visit to both centers if u want to find out whether which suits your kids better...
i went to concept math once, by chance (to pass something to a friend's son who was having tuition there).. i met janice and spoke to her.. she seemed very passionate about teaching and was very friendly, she even showed me the sample worksheets and explained to me in detail how her teachers would conduct the lessons..
i havent been to jei/psle math yet (i mean inside, but have seen it from outside as i used to bring my kids to blk163 to see dr. ng).. i will drop by to take a look, maybe after DS2's SA2 exam..
maybe our kids may be classmates at JEI next year..

Hi fanbingAfter much research and after a few free trials in several centres  , I finally signed up with JEIPsle. My DS feel its worksheets is more challenging and he feel comfortable in the class and the teacher. The environment is not bad, don't look like tuition centre. After his lesson, his teacher also give me a brief of what was taught and area which she will focus in next lesson.
My DS tell me the centre is now doing something call select papers which is a collection of common questions students make mistakes. Sound like a good method to prepare for exams. I hope this will give him a last minute boost for SA2.
I am also looking around for Maths enrichment classes for my P6 DD. Looks like JEI has some good feedback. Could I know which centres you have compared with JEI? -
Hi Homeworkmummy,
Sorry for the late reply. SA2 is as busy for children as also for me. Anyway, I finally can take a little break over Deepavali. Ok, I had checkout mindstretcher, Growan, TLL, Concept math and Just. Finally, I narrowed the choice to TLL and PSLEMath. In generally most of them has student teacher ratio I am not comfortable with. Some I did not explore further also because no free trial. DS had a assessment with TLL but there wasn;t any constructive feedback. Whole process very corporate. The plus is my DS say the assessment is tough. Another plus is the track record. It seem like everyone in TLL also get A star for PSLE. I finally choose PSLEMath because I think the material or programme is structured in a manner I find make sense, the teacher student ratio (max 6 to 1 teacher) and also cheaper than TTL. Hope that help.
Choosing PSLEMath does not mean I am saying other programme is no good. Each one got its own strength. It quite hard to make a decision actually. I am one who will take a long time to research. After signing up, I am usually quite \"loyal\" unless some really negative event happens. At the end of the day, its about which criteria is most important to us. In my case, programme need to make sense and student per class ideally should not be more than 5. So far haven't found one like that yet. PSLEMath is close tho'.homeworkmummy:

thank you so much for the detailed information. Now it's between TLL, Concept Maths and JEI for me. It's a crucial year for my girl (P6), so I really have to make sure I make the right choice. -
Yong HL:
hi Yong HL and all kiasu parents,Hi forever_kiasu
My girl is in P1 and she is with the amk branch. Her teacher is Rebecca who is also the branch manager.
Both my girl and myself like it there so far. In fact, i find their teaching method very flexible eg i can highlight to them the topics which i find it hard to teach my girl or she is weak in and they can take it from there. very customised i will put it
Can i check wif you on JEI AMK's fees? i have 2 gals going P1 & P3 nxt year. My P3 gal is also not very gd in concepts and analysing on math problems. Am trying to source for a gd tutoring centre for them.
TIA

Hi,
I was at JEI PSLEMATH last weekend. The material looks interesting. Thinking of putting my P3 there. Any latest feedback? -

Casio123,Hi,

My P2 DS joined PSLEMath in Sep this year. AMK is nearer but timing doesn't fit so joined MP branch instead. So far she is enjoying the class and she now seem alot more comfortable doing word problems. -
Two of my children joined Rebecca in July. She was clear then that my P6 DS teacher was not a graduate when my hubby asked her. She did not hide that fact but she did explain that her teachers was trained in their HQ.
Anyway, her team of teachers are very dedicated. My DS had joined a few centres prior, I must say that this one is different. Prior to PSLE they drill my DS past year school papers every week on a separate day in addition to her usual tuition day. Although it is a free drilling lesson, my DS told me the lesson was pretty intensive. My DS said she like the lesson because they do only problem sums which is her weakest. Her teacher will teach them the first Question then she will need to practice the next few herself. After that, her teacher will teach the next question which is a different type. She will then practice a few.
My DS scored 63 in SA1 and managed to get a A in PSLE. I am glad with the switch to JEI PSLE MATH programme. I am certain the weekly drilling class and the focus and structure of the programme played a significant role in helping my DS improve in a short period of time.
