Understand that every applicant who goes through the interview process has to sign a non-disclosure agreement where he/she can’t reveal what happened during the FSA. Perhaps you can share after the whole selection process is over (after 13 April).

I try to share after DS interview this Saturday. There is a saying “If we feed our neighbor’s kid, our kid will grow itself”.. 😇

Thank you Chancc (& DS) for your graciousness 😄

Good Luck & Best Wishes to all shortlisted candidates, especially those who are in the midst of their FSA now :rahrah:

    • RE: Raffles Institution (Year 1-4)

      PRESS RELEASES

      February 27, 2020

One-Day Suspension of Classes and Activities at Raffles Institution and MOE Language Centre (Bishan)

      1. As announced by the Ministry of Health (MOH) today, one of the new cases confirmed is a Year 1 student from Raffles Institution (RI) who has tested positive for COVID-19. He is linked to another confirmed case in his family. He became unwell on Friday, 21 February, and has been on medical leave and not been in school since.

      2. In light of this, RI will be stepping up precautionary measures to protect its students and staff and prevent the spread of COVID-19. These measures include:

Suspension of school for Year 1 to 6 tomorrow, Friday, 28 February, to conduct a thorough cleaning and disinfecting of the school premise. School will resume on Monday, 2 March 2020.

Issuance of a 14-day Leave of Absence (LOA) for students, teachers and staff who had recently come into contact with the student. Contact tracing is on-going.

Suspension of CCAs for Year 1 to 6 in RI for two weeks.

      3. These measures will provide another layer of protection for RI, in addition to the earlier precautionary measures that MOE had announced for the entire school system. These earlier whole-system measures will limit exposure to the school community in the event that a school staff or student gets infected. They include:

Suspension of large group and communal activities such as assemblies, camps and mass celebrations
Staggering of recess times in schools.

Suspension of all external school activities, inter-school activities and Learning Journeys until the end of the March school holidays.

MEASURES FOR MOE LANGUAGE CENTRE (BISHAN)

      4. As the student had attended a language class on Thursday, 20 February, at MOE Language Centre (Bishan), classes will also be suspended for one day, on Friday, 28 February, to conduct a thorough cleaning and disinfecting of the school premise. Students, teachers and staff of the Language Centre who were in close contact with the student will be issued a 14-day LOA.

      5. MOE will continue to monitor the situation closely, and work with students, parents and the community of the two institutions. We also urge all students and staff to continue practising good personal hygiene. This includes washing their hands frequently with soap, wearing a surgical mask if they have a cough or runny nose to prevent infecting others, and seeing a doctor if they are sick and returning to school only when fully recovered.

    • RE: Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) Updates

Great initiative by National Junior College.. Teaching students to be resourceful, creative and self-sufficient by putting knowledge into practice

“Instead of worrying, why not figure out solutions together?”

With that in mind, National Junior College Singapore’s Vice-Principal and one-time Science teacher Mr Harman Johll rallied his team to create ‘school-made’ hand sanitisers for each class. The team used materials that were already there in school – in the labs and left over from other projects. The lesson for students: Be resourceful, imaginative and, most important, apply what you’ve learnt in Science class! Students were also taught that hand sanitisers are a secondary measure – hand-washing with soap is still the most effective way to protect ourselves.

Wuhan virus : 5 things to know about collecting your masks from Feb 1

      1. WHO WILL THE MASKS BE GIVEN TO?

The Government will give more than 5.2 million masks to over 1.3 million households. Each household will get four masks. All local households in private and public housing estates will be eligible.

This is a one-time government measure.

      2. WHEN CAN THE MASKS BE COLLECTED?

Mask collection will start progressively from Saturday (Feb 1), according to the distribution plan by each constituency. It is expected to be completed by Feb 9.

The public can collect their masks from 2pm to 10pm on Saturday and 10am to 9pm from Sunday to Feb 9.

Residents living in public housing will get to collect their masks from Saturday while those living in private housing will collect their masks from next Thursday.

Priority will be given to areas with a higher number of vulnerable residents as well as rental block and Pioneer Generation residents.

      3. WHERE CAN I COLLECT MY MASKS?

Residents living in public estates can collect them at one of 654 residents' committee centres (RCs) or one of 89 community centres (CCs) while those living in private estates can do so at CCs.

      4. WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING FOR VERIFICATION?

You will need to bring your NRIC to verify your home address.

      5. HOW CAN I OBTAIN MORE INFORMATION ON THE MASK DISTRIBUTION PROCESS?

You can check RC noticeboards, digital display panels and social media platforms on when and where to collect the masks.

and.. dont know is this the correct forum to ask for your experience and advice. My P1 CHS boy just started last week, he was fine. but last night he started to tell me he does not want to go Primary school and this morning he completely snapped when I dropped him off - cried and rushing out from classroom, a teacher had to pull him back and let me go.

highly appreciate if there are some tips or best practice that could help more sensitive kids to settle in... thanks!!!!

Y5 starts on 15 Jan. You can drop off your kids together @ HCI then. Niece is crossing the “ 情人桥 “ to HCI this year too

Not sure if this is still the case, my dd prefers the boys from the school by the sea......lol

Psst.. I thought the talk of the town (here) is the school by the park ?

I know what’s the school by the sea now. What about the school next door ? 😉
