JEI/PSLE Math - Discussion
-
Hi,
I have just registered my P4 gal at AMK branch. Hope to see good results ! keeping my fingers crossed. -
I believe there is no perfect tuition centre / tutor.
But as long as it suits my child and i can see results, this is all that matters

hi,
Seeking your advice. Just called up the AMK branch to enquire on their 2012 P3 schedule. The 2 teachers who will be teaching will be either Ms Indra or Sze Doon.
Any of you have kids under these 2 teachers? If yes, can kindly share any feedback you have?
:thankyou:
Rgds,

Ms Indra is good i heard. Havent heard of Sze Doon though.
-
Could I know for this centre, do they focus only on model method? My DD prefers to use the unit or ratio method for certain questions. And how does it compare to Concept Math?
-
Wondering if we can get the workbooks if we are not attending the class? If yes, where can we get them?

Happy New Year
Thanks for your advice. -
My daughter is with them since July’10. In short term period my DD math improve a lot. And I think she has good foundation for her preparation to primary 1 this year. Beside that through this programme, her reading skill improve a lot. I believe a lot of math worksheet required her to read, analyse and answer

I think this programme is very beneficial for average and above students. For very weak students I personally think a programme that focus on section A will be more suitable. Its a matter of exam strategy. My elder child was with them the year before and he is now in secondary. With their help he scored well for his Math in PSLE. My younger son who is much weaker in Math fundamentals is also with them. He is struggling in the class because his fundamentals is weak. I spend much time at home brushing up his paper 1 type of questions as this programme do not focus on paper 1 type of questions. Nevertheless I still continue him with this programme because I agree with the programme manager that a child need to be expose to as many types of problem sums as possible to be experienced. This programme provide alot of exposure to the kids in problem sums.
My 5 cents advise - if you are considering PSLEMath, you need to know your child and patch the gaps. As fellow forumer, Yong HL said "there is no perfect tuition centre / tutor." -

Worldangel,
I know what you mean
The books are indeed good. I passed the used ones to my niece to try. I told my K2 DD to try not to mess up the pages to much. My sis and I erases it clean and reused it. A bit cheapskate, but can save why not? :moneyflies: I know a fellow parent in the MP centre does the same as me.
Maybe parents in this forum can offer their used books to you
