I would like my daughter to excel in a school where peer pressure and good teachers encourages her to achieve academic excellence. Of course, parents have to play a role too.I would like to know is it popular pri school as such RMPS, RVPS where expects the Parents to play a bigger role? The Teachers seem to be relax & if the student not able to perform up to the mark. We as parents need to source on tuition or enrichment.
If in a bochap primary school, stress level not so high. Don't have to always have meet the teacher session. A friend of mine where a daughter neighbourhood school ask the parent to go get tuition.
She scored like Maths & English is the 60% mark range. -

This is quite a risky move for NYPS in my opinion.
Do you mean moving out of Jurong West to anywhere near a good school ? If you can afford to move to any part of Singapore, and I assume you want the best school in Singapore, then definitely move to beside Nanyang primary schoolxuanxuanwu:

Dear all
Now, we are living in the Jurong west . My daughter was born in July 2006. we want to find a new location ,area to move to . the major purpose is : there are good primary school and within 1 km. we can do the volunteer parents for the school but got good or high chance to enter into that school. better got 2 good schools within 1 km. we don't mind to buy a new house nearby. Do you have any suggestions or advices? thanks to all in advance. we are really very poor info about it. need your help.
Around Bukit Timah Road and Farrer Road. Lots of houses there. RGPS also in that area. Also one of the top schools in Singapore.
From past record, NYPS does not have balloting for phase 2B. That does not mean that they have a shortage of PVs. Instead, it means that they are very selective of their PVs, and they don't take in more PVs than they have places for. So even if you do move to within 1km, there is no guarantee you will be selected for PV.
That puts you into phase 2C. From 2004 onwards, there had been balloting for 2C at NYPS for those living within 1km, except for 2007 when they have the exact number of applicants as the number of vacancies. So if luck is not on your side, you will be looking for a school in 2C supp.

[/quote]Is there any property you can buy that puts you within 1km of both NYPS & RGPS? AND within 2km of MGS. I imagine that would be the most popular property among P1 parents-to-be.

Yeah, and one of the most expensive properties in Spore too... -
If buy the property confirm 1Km can get in without balloting?
If buy now for next year enrollment is fine.Buy now & enrollment is many years later then would be a different situation. -

Of course there's no guarantee. And for all you know, the rules may change in the future wherein proximity no longer counts for priority in registration. If buy the property confirm 1Km can get in without balloting?

Ha.ha I think the current proximity of distance still the best way in P1 registration. Don't think MOE would be able do any major changes in this area.
