Once you are successful in DSA, the school will take you in so long as you meet their stated cut-off criteria in PSLE, which in most cases is an aggregate allowing you to be in Express stream.

In short, yes, even if your child scores 240, so long as he has been confirmed a place via DSA, he will be accepted.

Yes, however today she received her maths paper and her score was 60/100. Her Science is borderline 80 also, and the school has not added the portfolio results to the overall yet. Therefore, what I would like to know now are her possibilites of going for the GAT and still being accepted to RGS. Are there any bad impressions left on the interviewers if my girl has to take the GAT?

If your dd clears GAT and is called for an interview, her chances are as good as any of the others who were called for the interview without GAT. I know personally of GEPpers who had to go for GAT and then the interview. Some got accepted, some didn't. So it really depends on how she performs at the interview.

[If you have exemption due to learning disability for MT, then it's illogical to take HCL at O level. Some returning Singaporeans are pretty weak in MT and exemption is natural. For some others, while the child may cope, the child may be at a disadvantage due to not having the local learning support, eg suitable tuition, Chinese lang media exposure. Even kids who attend international schools in China may be weak in Chinese as the schools may cater to an international crowd and treat Chinese as enrichment subject.

My older child is taking HCL in secondary school. As I mentioned, one returnee exempted MT made a successful appeal to be admitted to HCI at sec 1. Going through SPERS, 3rd lang option is not given, but I think if you appeal, can get it.

hoskins8h, if you are exempted from CL at PSLE, can you take HCL in Secondary School? I’m wondering because I know if you are exempted from CL at PSLE due to a learning disability, you will not be permitted to take HCL nor 3rd language in Secondary School. Is it different for returning overseas students?

Solar Cooker is the first year for this Science assignment. Heard last year was a different assignment on cells and membranes? The Tic Tac toe fairy tale english assignment should not be new leh. The worksheet seems to have started since 2007 (footer sstated fairy tales/term2/geo/2007) Maybe your child completed without you knowing?

Tic-Tac-Toe has been around since my dd's time a few years ago.
