2 more questions if you don't mind.

        1. In some of the books, snakes and lizards' outer coverings are 'scaly skin'. In one of the books, they are considered as having 'scales'. Are both correct?
        2. In one of the MCQ regarding concept map, X is said to 'have one pair of wings', 'lay eggs', 'has 6 legs' and 'spreads disease'. Why is the answer housefly instead of cockroach?
I hv not seen \"scaly skins\", usual name is scales for reptiles.

Cockroach has 2 pairs of wings, see http://www.totallybuggin.com/site/1586384/page/841842

\"Scaly skins\" came from Casco's Process Skills assessment book by Constance.

I've the Casco guide book. Started flipping 2 days ago and noticed BIG words like monocotyedons, dicotyledns, mycelium, protozoa, paramecium :faint:

My dd said i-science textbooks do not have these 'foreign language'.

So kids aren't expected to know all these BIG words ?

Not that I know of...what do these words mean ? :?

From this guide book - Science Booster Notes by Casco. Very chim

                janet_lee88:

I believe your daughter is using 'Perfect Match'. You can start her on 'Diversity' first...as for guide books, I would like to recommend 'P3/4 Science Partner' by SAP. It's rather comprehensive and acts as a backup for the textbook.
As for assessment books, you can check out 'P3/4 Science Teachers' Circle' and 'P3/4 Conquer Science'.
                Janet_lee88m
your words in bold above, are you referring to the following?
                1. Conquer Science
                - https://www.popular.com.sg/jsp/product/product_detail.jsp?vca001=265&vpd001=93555
                2. P3/4 Science Teachers' Circle'

                how about this? any comments?
Primary 3/4 Science Process Skills Lower Block 3/4
                - https://www.popular.com.sg/jsp/product/product_detail.jsp?vca001=265&vpd001=91283
easier for me to find in pictorial form (cos now sch holidays, with the kids, cannot spend as much time at Popular).

                    jedamum,

I only tried "Primary 3/4 Science Process Skills Lower Block 3/4" (not the other two). Personally, I don’t really like it. Why ? Some of the process skills questions are quite unusual. Like ‘Light’, there are questions about mirror image etc. I prefer Casco assessments. Just my personal opinion.

                      Hi jedamum,

I stick to either SAP or EPH Science guides. These are the titles I personally find useful.
                      1) 'P3/4 Learning Science for Lower Block' SAP https://www.popular.com.sg/jsp/product/product_detail.jsp?vca001=245&vpd001=85685

                      2) Primary 3/4 Science Partner: A Complete Guide To Lower Block Science 3/4
                      https://www.popular.com.sg/jsp/product/product_detail.jsp?vca001=245&vpd001=91792

                      3) Primary 3/4 Conquer Science
                      https://www.popular.com.sg/jsp/product/product_detail.jsp?vca001=0&vpd001=93555

I get hubby to look after the kids so that I have time to stand at Popular and glance through...backbreaking 😢 thing to do every year.

I’ve been teaching Science for many years and have this habit of browsing science assessment books when I’m in Popular, mainly because I’ve got to set upper primary science papers every year.

These are some of the books I’ve recommended my class:

Perfect Match Science Challenging Questions by Manisha Nayak

Longman Exam Science for Achievers by Asma Mahamedi.

I felt that the above have questions similar to PSLE ones.
