You be surprised that there are many

primary Sch teachers who are not
trained in Science. They are not
      science grads.
for upper primary science, you do need some
knowledge of sec Sch science to fully
      understand a concept.
Like the concept of air resistance and gravity.
It’s being taught in sec 3 physics.
      To score, answering technique and
understand a higher level of science concept
      is impt.
I’m surprised at how the standard
      of science has raised.
Some Pri Sch teachers can’t teach that.
They can only teach the basics.
And manpower constraints in Sch means that
some teachers who are not trained in science
      have to teach science.

So a lot of outside tutoring is impt.

      And

          G Tan:
I have tips but i cant teach u online... Find a good tutor who focus on answering techniques!

Surely you can provide mummies with some pointers. There are other tutor and teachers forumers who graciously provide some pointers on creative writing skills and mathematics. But none on science at all. You can be the first!

It is not easy to find a good science tutor. You can be of great help to mummies out here. :please:

            Hi Champion,

We went to IMM on Friday night.
Bought the 3M table lamp...the existing light causes 'distress' for the eyes as it's too bright.

Just marked the topic on 'heat energy' this morning. So mad son has forgotten it  I like the questions in Learning Science...they are interesting and answers are good...a pity the key words are not underlined or printed bold.

            Hi,

may I check with you which range of 3M table lamp did you buy? I am deciding to choose the philip 69195 or 3 M LED2000. Any suggestions?

here's something I created for my kid to revise magnets. It's a mind map of the key points of the topic.

              http://flic.kr/p/aLZG1M

if you want the pdf (it's much easier to read and print out), you can download it here:
              https://www.cx.com/mycx/share/WGbEyRl6EeGhqRICOBubSA/Magnets.pdf

let me know if there are issues in downloading.

I might put in some videos to supplement the mind map, might be interesting. Let me know your thoughts.

                    Hi Janice,

I saw many parents buying 3M table lamp from Bookfest...there should be better discounts I guess. Mine is the basic model. $179. All I wanted is the polarizing layer...with these 2 fellas like monkeys at home, a very elaborate and or the latest model will also die under their hands. :slapshead:

From what I know the basic model was 20% discount at bkfest. The new models were on 10% discount. If buy the most ex one, there's a box of free gifts consisting of 3M products. Sorry I did not keep track of the model numbers.

I did not see the philips lamp, so cannot comment. 😄

My son' short-sighted degree increases by 100 every year...so I am very worried for him. That's why I told hubby the table lamp must be of good quality...when my eyes hurt after a while of marking his work, I knew something had to be done. So we explored the diff brands of table lamps.
