hi steady berry,
After reading so many valuable recommendations from you and other mummies, have shortlisted my wish list:
Ultimate Science
P3/4 Conquer Science (teachers@work)
P3/4 Science Process Skills (teachers@work)
Your companion to Science-A complete guide to psle (fbp)
Longman My Weekly companion
P3/4 Science Partner a complete guide to lower block (sap)
P3/4 Learning Science by Dianna Lane (sap)
Honestly, I am no expert in science. The titles I mentioned are through trial and error.
*P3/4 science partner is a simplified guide. In my opinion, no point getting it. For guide book, the EPH PSLE ultimate science is sufficient. It will take you all the way to p6.
*As for assessment, diff schools teach topics...so the 'Longman My Weekly Companion' may not be suitable. For my daughter, I will be getting separate books to train her in MCQ and Open-ended sections.
Hope this helps.

Hi Janet
Thks. Will definitely get ultimate science. Will also try teachers@work but not the one from longman & sap. What other assessment books would u recommend?
Hi Happyh
Thks for recommending ultimate science. Pls do get back to me on the names of the books that u mentioned earlier or any other sci assessment books that you prefer. Really appreciate it. -

I will take a look at the lower block ones I bought and let you know later. SAP & EPH for Science are not bad actually. For my older one, I experimented several titles/publishers when he was in P3. Fortunately he has a keen interest in science and willing to practise.Hi Janet

My son in P6 is using a few publishers, namely Renee Chong, jesslyn poh's MCQ (just education). Can't remember, too many  -
Besides those usual science assessments bks avail,
would be good to buy them the Mini Science encyclopedia (by panpac) and Science booster ( by Marshall Cavendish),
to provide them with additional info which are not found in textbks…
Or something similar if these are no longer avail… -

You are welcome. EPH - Science revision workbook Lower block P3 and P4. Author Renee Chong. You can either choose this book or Science companion by renee chong (it is a boxed set - each topic one book). Between these two, I personally prefer revision workbook version although both are good. But dont buy both becos most of the questions were same except some.
Actually I have a lot of science assessment books untouched. Please dont buy everything in one goal. My DD has no time to do those things. Many books are untouched. You can add on along the way after you spot where your DC needs more attention. As janet mentioned, longmann book has diversity and another topic which is not covered in my DD's school this year. So you need buy Book B as well if you are going for it. It will be good (relatively easy) to do Longmann weekly after that portion is taught in the school. I am going to try few more books in June holidays ( :xedfingers: )' I let u know after we start on those books.
hope this helps -
For science, most schools start with 'diversity' first at P3. Then in 2nd half of the year, could either be 'systems' or 'cycles'. If getting Longman weekly or those titles split into P3 and P4, then you have to buy both together, in case the B book is out of stock. It happened to me, I was like :stupid: should have bought both!!!
Still have Renee chong's 3-in-1 left over (P3/4). Don't buy too many at one time. Always have new publications coming out, although not necessarily useful. Perhaps 1-3 titles for CA1/SA1. -
Hi Augmum
Thks for yr recommendation. Think I saw the encyclopedia in popular few wks ago. Will get them when I hv the 20% voucher.
Hi Janet, Happyh
Thank u very much for yr help. Before asking for yr help, I did go to popular to look at the science books but I was like "Wow! So many ha, how to choose?" Then came to this thread but there were more than 200 pgs to go through. Luckily met the 3 of u. At least I hv a rough idea which books to buy. Just 1 more que, I saw in popular web that ultimate science comes in lower blk, upp blk, lower & upper blk and psle. Which one should I get if I want one that can be used till p6? -
I just went to get the Popular catalogue. There’s no 20% discount in it!
