Hi, need some tips from mummies who teach/taught their kids with Ultimate Science Guide Lower Block P3 & 4. Since the book title indicates for use in P3 and P4, may I know how do you use the guide to be used for P3 level at the moment or you teach them all. Thanks. :?

Hi, forestcadee, if you refer to the following MOE webpage:-
        http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/syllabuses/sciences/files/science-primary-2008.pdf

Most school will start off with the theme \"Diversity\" in P3 Term 1 so perhaps you can read up topics in this theme 1st 😄 Thereafter maybe you can check with the school T what are the topics that will be covered for P3 level and follows from there.

        Cheers! :hugs:

          mummy so kiasu:

Ultimate Science is a must have! In fact, it is on NYPS booklist. Suggest you to get at least 2 guide books.
it is better to get the latest \"Ultimate Science\" guidebook!

because you'll notice that the thickness of this single latest released Science guidebook in the market is even much thicker than both (Lower block + Upper Block) combined together / stacked up together.

ie. buy this single guidebook enough -
content inside already contain both (Lower + Upper) block together, in the same guidebook.
          http://www.popular.com.sg/jsp/product/product_detail.jsp?vca001=112&vpd001=96621

no need to buy individually \"Lower Block\" first, then after that buy \"Upper Block\". End up got 2 books.

Hi, Champion, thanks for your quick reply and the attached MOE syllabus. But I am still a bit confusing. My dd's school is asking to buy I-Science series textbook P3 & P4 (Diversity, Systems & Interactions) at the moment. Can I say that the teacher will complete the above 3 of the 5 main themes (Diversity, Cycles, Systems, Energy & Interactions) in P3? The other 2 main themes will be covered in P4? :?

I am also interested to know how the Lower Block Science topics are divided among P3 and P4 syllabus.

              1. Do the schools teach some of the 5 themes in P3 and the rest in P4?

              2. Or do they teach half of each theme in P4 and the second half in P4?

different schools teach diff topics at p3/4.
however, 'diversity' is usually the first topic taught in p3. daughter's school only asked parents to get textbook for 'diversity, systems and cycles' (can't remember) for p3. however, 'diversity' has 5 sub-topics, so for second half of the year, it will cover another theme.
p4 will cover remaining 3 themes.

Yes. They ask you to buy that three books, they will cover that three topics first. For other parents who have list stating that need to buy all five books and are keep to find out the sequence that they teach, email the school’s science HOD for information if you can’t get from elsewhere and if you had intended to coach in decemberand don’t know who the science teacher will be. You don’t have to declare who your child is. I did that during december for my boy ending p2. You can also drop your science teacher an email now for info onwhich topics will be covered in ca and sa.

                    Happy coaching!

Sub topics can be seen at the contents page of most guides

                        I think should be . …
                        Classification
                        Plants
                        Animals
