You are most welcome. I suspect a lot of schools tend to hold their Open House on the same day so as to force the parents to decide which schools they want to go to for the Open House and which schools to apply DSA for. It's been like that for years, usually it is the last two Saturdays of May, that's when they start the DSA procedure and hold the Open House and that's where they all try to get the limited attention of the P6 Parents.

      Hi maid,

We are not doing DSA but will select one or two to go for open house and heard this will motivate the children if they like that school.

Definitely go for the Open Houses. It gives you a vibe and understanding of the school culture and what they have to offer. Sometimes you may have one school in mind, but after the Open House, you realize it's not what you imagined it to be. Or you may not have a school in mind but just fall in love with it after you visit it.
Thank you jtoh, dd's teacher also encourage them to go.
NJC Open House is from 13-15 April. Their website says need to register by 6th April. Too bad, I saw too late. Well I'm going down today to take a chance. Hope they allow me into their 'High School Tour' 🙏

Hope it is not a problem for you, tisha, happy touring today ;)....also trying to make the trip happen today with kid too.... 🙂

How come is on weekday ? :?

        BTW, enjoy your trip. :celebrate:
NJC held it on weekdays a couple of years ago too. It was more of a student-conducted tour. Quite informal, no Principal's talk, just Q & A with a teacher.

3 years ago they had a Principal's talk. The principal presented herself very well.

The standard of the above schools are very high and a bit worry lah. Nevertheless, we will still go for the open house to gain some experience.

I think we should not confuse parents here with Open House for JCs. This thread is for P6 Parents who are interested in the Open House of Secondary Schools.

Yup, agree with 25hrmaid. I called Victoria School. I was told that the date for their OH is yet to be confirmed and once confirmed will be update on their website.

This is for sec 2 to VJ for IP

                  Hi jtoh,

Thank you for your encouragement. Yes, MGS is on 21 May too but not sure about SGS.

Should we start visiting OH at P5 or P6?

if u have the time, it's ok to visit some in P5,
becos there are likely crashes of sch open house dates, esp those popular ones.
