Yes, we will be MILs one day.
It's impt not to get involved in the lifestyles of the kids and their spouses...don't get salt and vinegar like what Oppsgal/CWC mentioned.
We are suffering because those old ones interfere...so learn what NOT to do in future. -
cwc:
Yes. The golden rule is not to interfere at all in the lives of the young generation. Try to have own activities, learn taichi or line-dance, or learn some stuff from cc. Don't stay in the house too often. See too much of each other and it will lead to conflicts.
For me, it's......dun interfere too much into the way of life of the son's family.Oppsgal:
One day, we would become MILs too... :faint:
So how to link better with DIL :? -
try not to stay together when old. Unless is as "next door neighbor"…

Even the crown princess and Empress of Japan have problems. Read this sometime back. Fortunately, crown princess has firm support of her husband.ImMeeMee:

recently my inlaws love to bring their eldest granddaughter who is 4yrs old to my place to visit my newborn no.2. i really hate it when she comes over because she acts like a monkey, she will take my son’s toys to play den throw it all over the place & never helps to keep. she also loves to step & jump on my sofa. previous time she came she even jump on my bed! i had complaint to my hubby each time she does something that gets on my nerves. even my hubby also dislike her, he always say she so big liao still duno how to behave properly, duno how her parents teach her.
the last straw was she destroyed a lego train which my hubby had done up nicely for our 2yr old son. i was so mad i complain to my hubby & told my hubby i really do not welcome her to my place anymore.
so, hubby told his mum not to bring her over anymore. mil was angry but heck care her.
sometimes i wonder am i too petty… -
@mummyjune - I would do the same. Does ur mil look after the granddaughter?
