If it weren't so painful, this would be... :rotflmao: but right now it's... [/quote]It is not only learning and teaching. After a hard day of day (not to mention OT), still have to go home to learn and teach. Sometimes will end up impatient and spoilt relationship.

Want to \"xue dao lao\" also must find something enjoyable to learn together.....This type of learning very stressful for both parents and kids.

As for the Unit Transfer Method from Maths Heuristics, this is a totally new method not taught in school. My take is that if kids want to learn this method, you need time and effort to practise and master it. Moreover, it is easier if kid has strong Maths foundation. On the other hand, if the kid already has strong foundation, they will not need this method at all. I have the book but I have not taught DS the Unit Transfer Method so far. He and his friends have fared well in Maths just based on what school has taught.

Perhaps the CA1 of 66 at P4 really scare us off and we want to ensure she can sail smoothly lah.

Actually it is really great you mums can teach and coach your kids. As I am working, it is hard to find time to teach based on syllabus. I can only help fill in some \"gaps\" when DS has issues with certain topics. [/quote]What I'm good at is BUYING assessment book. My Maths is really really hopeless...I relay Brenda's advice to hubby to coach son . Just last Friday, hubby attended a P1 Math workshop to learn how to teach Math.
If I have to coach my kids in their studies until they have finished P6, there is NO chance of getting 老人痴呆症 (Alzheimer's disease) in the meantime.
I always tell my son we are learning something new everyday...and that applies to me too, so don't complain.
