Singapore's PM Lee announces new Cabinet line-up; K Shanmugam named foreign minister but will retain his portfolio as Law Minister.
Three ministers will be retiring from Cabinet - DPM Wong Kan Seng, National Development Minister Mah Bow Tan and Transport Minister Raymond Lim.
The second Deputy Prime Minister is Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam who will also be the Finance Minister and Manpower Minister.
Two newly-elected MPs have also been appointed ministers - Heng Swee Keat is named Education Minister, while Major-General Chan Chun Sing will be Acting Minister for Information Communications and the Arts.

:shock: This election is like a joke...They put ministers in the GRCS, then they step down. I think of the heated discussion I had a relative of mine who defended MBT, wearing all white, going all out to support him, and I wonder what she'll think if he were to step down. Petition like the oppositions do with TPL and CST? But anyway, he'll still be MP for her constituency...lastest............to be confirm soon

(1) transport - why still keep him ? everywhere got tall tree and mushroom later on
(2) education -thought he is better in finance ?

seriously, I am very impressed by PM's moves. It showed that he really listening now, with the retiring of WKS and MBT. :celebrate:
just short of VB and TPL. but it's a good start. Seems the loss of 1 GRC finally make the ruling party listen to the people's feelings and opinions. :snuggles: -

Interesting on the new cabinet… all the "lao jiao" retires… and 2 "newbies" became ministers…
So many ministers with multiple portfolios… meaning the other MPs are not good enough?
Hope this change is for the better… -
