just now radio news from capital 958 mentioned about the PP situation last nite and the "sacking" of someone who did not perform on the job in one town council

Now GY became a hero. I have nothing against him. I know he has done his job very well. But unfortunately, he was at the wrong place and wrong time.
The mass media has given a lot of attention to him. What about WP who has worked very hard for years at a disadvantage ground to finally gain a victory? Nothing much was mentioned in the mass media.
Let us move on to make S’pore a better country. -

I am a politics blur block. All these talk abt Ms Tin arose my curiosity n I did a web search on her. It was reported she has 7 years of grassroots experience at Holland-BT. She was conferred a title at her sec sch. She was a senior biz consultant at a reputable audit firm. Her ability cant be that bad right?
Of course not everyone has the X factor to stand in front of the public and win the public’ favour. Clearly she seems to hv lost this battle.
However I find all the namecalling abt her branded possessions quite uncalled for. -

town council shld not be siding any political party.
Is town council linked to any political party? A town council is supposed to serve the residents living in that area and full-stop.starlight1968sg:

04:47 AM May 11, 2011
SINGAPORE - The Jurong Town Council has cleared the air over the termination of an employee, dispelling online rumours that she was let go because of her involvement in events held by an Opposition party.
It said the matter involving former customer service officer Geraldine Soh is related to her poor performance. Ms Soh, 25, was an employee of EMASCO Township Management, the managing agent for the town council.
\"We would like to clarify that this was purely a human resource management issue between ESMACO and the employee ... Council members of the Jurong Town Council are not involved in EMASCO's human resource decisions,\" said town council general manager Ho Thian Poh in an email reply to MediaCorp's queries.
\"The staff concerned was terminated by ESMACO for reasons of under-performance over a period of several months. This included weaknesses in attending to calls from residents and following up on calls. Counselling of the officer by her supervisors did not lead to improvement and her continuation on the job would have demoralised other staff,\" Mr Ho added.
Questions regarding Ms Soh's dismissal began surfacing online yesterday, after her boyfriend, Mr Joel Kong, alerted netizens and online social political websites about the incident.
Ms Soh, who was given her last pay cheque yesterday, told reporters she had been suspended from work since last Tuesday. The weekend before, she had been helping to distribute National Solidarity Party (NSP) pamphlets and sell party merchandise at its rally at Jurong West stadium.
Ms Soh denied that she had attended counselling sessions because of her work. She claimed that she had been called into the office \"about four to five times over the last three years\" following complaints from residents. But this was a \"common occurrence\" among colleagues, she said.
In response to MediaCorp's queries, a Ministry of Manpower (MOM) spokesperson said it has not received any complaints officially lodged by Ms Soh. -

Maybe GY can become Ambassador at Large, like Tommy Koh was.
