Is 15 years old too young to send overseas for studies?

Just to share with you an email I received from her english teacher
“She has certainly settled into her new school environment very well and demonstrated that she is a conscientious and hard-working student. She takes pride in her work and completes tasks to a high standard. She is not afraid ask questions or seek clarification if she needs it.
Her first formal assessment for the year will be a literary essay. The essay will be based on short stories we have been studying in class. Before undertaking the task, students will be provided with a thorough overview of the essay writing process and look at exemplars. I am sure she has done essay writing at her previous school, but I will ensure she is adequately supported for this assessment.
I look forward to helping her achieve her goals in English this year and am sure she will make some excellent contributions…”
I am happy that she is doing well and her teacher is very generous with her comments. I believe she has not received such encouragement from her previous teachers before…
She is also on track to get her skipper license soon and she will be going for her first Sailing lesson next week.
I am very happy for her and I can see she enjoys going to school now. Eventhough I miss her dearly…I think in the long run, it will help her more. -

:rahrah: things are working out well for your family -
Thanks Lovejoypeace for sharing your journey and I am really glad your daughter is doing well.
My daughter is only 10 years old but I am really contemplating whether I should send her to international school in Singapore. Would the Singapore International schools be better, in which case I would need to wait till Sec1. May I know what you think of it? Which school would be better? Are these really more suited for kids which can’t cope well in Singapore school system? -

Curious, are we talking abt international schools such as ACS, SJI, HC? As far as I understand, the other international schools (Australian etc) does not take in local students unless the family were overseas for at least 2 years and subject to MOE approval or something, am I right? Thanks Lovejoypeace for sharing your journey and I am really glad your daughter is doing well.

I personally do not like the local education system and what they are doing to our kids. I would love my kids to be enjoying school life and learning more than what they do in a classroom. -
