DD got back all her results. And :rahrah: We survived P4 SA1 with no casualty. Well maybe 1 wounded, but need to see the paper to ascertain if the wounds are superficial or serious enough to require major corrective surgery.
DD maintained her grades for all her subjects (compared to P3) with a slight dip in Math.
And from her results, we know now that she needs to work on her English and Chinese compo, Chinese Compre. Some work needs to be done on her Science OE in identifying keywords and answering in specifics. So we have now till mid P6 to improve on these few areas. -

I am so happy with ds chinese compo result.
He has been failing his chinese compo since P3. This SA1, he FINALLY passed. He get 12/20. Nothing great tho but to us, it is a BIG improvement.

While I was telling DD we should be happy with her results, can maintain band 1 good enough, as we move on to upper primary, it will get tougher and tougher to score above 90, DD told me, no mummy, do you know that for English, even if you have 86 or 87, even 88, you are still among the lowest in my class? Most of the girls scored above 90. :faint:

DD2 told me some friends scored full marks for some papers. Like really...? :nailbite:
DD2 didn't get full marks. But she sure heck bucked up from 3 Band 2s to three Band 1s for SA1. That is a massive achievement. She asked me, \"Are you happy, mom?\" I turned the question round. \"Are YOU happy, darling?\" \"Yes, mom. Yes I am.. like finally, mom.. I made it.\" I told her this is the self-fulfilling achievement (feeling) one gets after working really hard. The prize is having done really well all on its own. The best prize.
I told her it doesn't matter if her friends can score full marks having to go tuition every other day after supplementary classes and weekends. I am extremely happy that without tuition (not that we can afford it aniwaes).. she is mature enough and motivated enough to want to work hard to achieve her own goals, for this will serve her well till years to come and even in working life later on. DD2 gets most evenings off - a few hours before bedtime on an average and she gets full weekends off.
I shared with her that I like how she is doing now - balanced routine = quality of life/childhood and that i'm happy if she continues to keep it up. As usual when i asked how to reward her, she tells me the same thing as she does all the time. \"No need for anything. You're not working, remember? But if you must - just Mac Donalds treat for me... and a BIG hug.\" :hugs:
This kinda days are days that I realize how big she has grown and how proud I am of her. -
