Could it be due to the length? It looked baggy on DS when he first tried it on. I hemmed up the length and it looked better. Still slightly baggy but acceptable.doodbug\" post_id=\"1900305\" time=\"1551337034\" user_id=\"13281:[quote=doodbug post_id=1900305 time=1551337034 user_id=13281]Hi! Any Sec 4 parents or council parents can help me here....
This is regarding the uniform long pants....it looks so extremely baggy. Anyone here tried to alter the pants by tapering it? Where can we send to get this done?
If you want to tailor made Hwa Chong pants, it is at beauty world if I am not wrong. The phone number is 64665697
Please call them to check the operating hour and address. I remembered they open from 12pm-8pm. -

Do the boys wear name tags? I was not told to order name tags at the uniform counter. I guess they don't wear?
No name tag unless you are in High School Council. -

1: Yes, in the new system all the special programmers are in Ispark except Bicultural Studies Programme (BSP), which is in Ortus.Would appreciate if the more senior HCI parents here can share about the special programmes at Sec 3....
- do kids have to move consortiums for special programmes?
- do all kids who qualify for special programmes opt to take it up?
- anyone with experience with the special programmes and how to qualify for them?
- is there a lot more work in special programme
compared to regular IP?
Thanks a bunch!
2: No, as some kids have other commitments like AEP, MEP etc or they want to focus more on their CCA
3: You will be given priority if you meet all the criteria in Sec 2. For SMTP, this is A1 for Math, Science and English, MSG< 2. However, most people that enter do not meet all the criteria, namely the A1 for English. This just means you will not be the first cut.
4: Yes, as you usually take more subjects in special programmes and you learn more in your specialized subjects as your syllables is accelerated. -

Hi hi
Wonder anyone has tips on coping with higher Chinese in Sec 1 (My DS did not study HCL in p6)? He didn’t just do badly he failed the subject. What concerns me is that his Chinese teacher does not seem bothered. Sorry but am I the only one that feels the teachers in HCI doesn’t really care about the students whether they are coping or not... I was shocked when the teacher mentioned if really can’t make it can go SIP. It’s only the first year and such statement doesn’t sound very encouraging :gloomy:
I thought it’s supposed to be an environment that will help spur his interest in Chinese language but sadly I can tell he still has not pick up the interest. With this kind of results, he is even more discouraged now.
I have an elder Son from another IP sch and the Teachers there would make efforts to always keeping in touch with parents. All the subjects Teachers are extremely caring and will meet with us to keep us updated on his progress. But over here they seems to expect students to go find Teachers if they miss classes or don’t understand the topic but they will not go after them...I have not met any of the subject Teachers except one (not form teacher) during the parent student forum.
I was hoping the Teachers here are more supportive having heard so much good stuff during the open house.
Any advices?

Can someone kindly advise which are the typical CCA and 3rd language days at HCI? Thank you.
