AN INDONESIAN domestic worker was on Thursday, jailed for three months for lying that she had been raped by a man on three occasions.

Rohatin, 33, admitted to giving false information to Bedok police on Dec 26 2010, that she was raped by an unknown Turkish man three times between Dec 24 and 25 2010.

The court heard that she befriended the Turk on Dec 22 and confided in him her problems.

He took her to his house where she massaged him voluntarily upon his request.

Two days later, she went to his house and claimed that he raped her. She lied that he raped her two more times on Dec 25.

Investigation showed that she cooked up the story as she was hurt and angry with the Turk for having other girlfriends, and making empty promises that he would employ her. She could have been jailed for up to one year and/or fined up to $5,000.

Also, I believe there are many others that go unreported. I heard of a case where the maid wanted to go back after starting work for ~2 months, when she didn’t get her way, claimed the Ah Gong used force & molested her…and frankly, no witness. Maid refused to go police, just insist send her home. This kind of maid, no point keeping… heard she was sent home directly.

We wont know when the maid is new...have to observe the maid for some time in order to know if she is ok. The best is have adults to supervise the maid. Never leave the kids alone with maid unless really no other choice.

These maid simply wanna their ways n will try all sort of ways to get what they want. Most of them are willing parties cos they are lonely here, wanna seek comfort

Suharni, 23, who goes by one name only, is alleged to have committed the offence at a house in Yio Chu Kang on July 19.

Bail of $5,000 was offered.
