I am desperately looking for a speech therapist for my son. We have brought him for an assessment and he does have challenges with his speech. Its been difficult finding an experienced therapist to take him on.


Dose anyone have any recommendations

You can try the different speech therapist schools, eg Leapfrogs, Kaleidoscope, Total Communication, Bumble Bee, Dynamics just to name a few.

Some of these schools were recommended to me too but the more experienced therapist are fully booked. No one plans to take in new pupils given its the end of the year and most have their schedules booked up.

Put your child on waiting list first. Before you know it, his turn will be here.

not sure if my son has speech delay or speech disorder. kindly advise.


my son is now 28mths(2yrs+). he wont call mama papa,when he wants something he doesnt point to us or tell us what he wants, he express by crying & we ve to figure out what he wants by guessing, ask him why he cry he wont answer but cries even louder. when he dun get what he wants he will lay down on the floor & cry , sometimes kick us.

i duno how to go abt seeking treatment for him OR does he need any treatment…

Some kids really need more time before they are really to talk. Continue to monitor and if u are really uneasy, then bring your child to poly clinic to get a referral to Child Guidance Clinic at HPB or KKH for a check up.

hi mashy, able to advise where yr son went for speech therapy?cost?waiting time?

i suspect my son has speech disorder too since certain words he couldn't prounce clearly, like cat in chinese, he said 'wow', & word like bus, he said barbie, which is rather strange to me...

i want to bring my son for speech therapy but not sure where to go.

pls advise. thanks.
