Hi hi,
I was wondering why parents decided to register their children in Frontier Pri, given it is a totally new school. Why didn’t they register their children in a school that already has a history? I’m curious as I’ll have to decide my children’s school soon. I stay very near Frontier Pri but I’m in a dilemma to choose between a totally new school or try for one with history of results. Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to attend the soft launch of Frontier Pri. I really appreciate it if fellow parents can share their views with me. Thanks so much! -
Hi,
There’s a online service provided by the bookstore at FPS where textbooks can be ordered and packed.
Delivery to house will cost $7 while delivery to FPS for collection on 17th Dec is free. -
:thankyou: for the info, troubled.
do we have to buy the full set if we order? -
Most welcome!
Don’t think u need to buy all, just cancel neatly whatever not required.
Will have to download their pre-order form from FPS website and email together with the scan book list.
The deadline is 10th Dec! -
ok :thankyou:
i think that's more convenient so i will do so too! -
Sorry the website should be the book store and not FPS.
It's http://www.rickybookcentre.com.sg
I'm also sending in my list this weekend! -
Dear fellow parents,
Previously I posted a request for parents, if u can, to please kindly share with me your views on choosing the new Frontier Primary over existing schools. My impression is most parents will try to register their children in existing schools. Some will even go to the extent of moving house so that they live within 1 km of the desired school. If anyone can please share with me your opinion, that is greatly appreciated. I believe if Frontier Primary wasn’t built, some parents will be in the same dilemma as me…Thank u! -
Hi ABmom,
For me, for primary schools, distance is most important. Secondary schools are another matter.
Besides distance, I look for programmes, CCAs, leadership (Principal and teachers), and whether their timing suits me. Most primary schools will be going single session but currently in Jurong West, not many are single session yet due to their sheer numbers and lack of space. I like single session schools so I go for these.
Other parents may look for the presence of BASC within the school for convenience.
Different strokes for different folks though. You have to see what school is the best fit for your child.
Hope this helps.

Hello Kabalevsky,
Thank u so much for your opinion. Very much appreciated! Has Frontier Pri already decided on its CCAs? I can’t seem to find that information. If I may ask, what’s BASC?
I like the idea of single session as well. It gives the children more opportunities for play & other activities after school. We live very close to Frontier, so this school is best in terms of distance. I find many parents are caught up in the paper chase & so they strive to put their kids in known schools. Have u ever thought that if one doesn’t join this chase, we may be disadvantaging our kids? Please, no offence intended. I hope u don’t mind my candid discussion. What gives u so much faith in a new school? Thank u.
