Hello parents with children at FPS,
I would just like to share with u this important info. I’m sure u’ve all seen the new traffic crossing outside FPS along JW St 61. Today as I was strolling my children home, we were almost knocked down by a taxi at that traffic crossing. In fact, today’s incident was the 2nd time we experienced vehicles not rady to stop at that traffic crossing. Coincidentally, both our experiences involved blue comfort taxis.
I noticed that vehicles are not ready to stop even when the "green man" is litted up. Today’s incident was really frightening as the taxi swerved from outer lane to inner lane and suddenly jammed brake upon seeing us. Because of the 1st incident, I am highly cautious at this crossing. I always stop in the middle, making sure my stroller doesn’t go beyond the middle and wait for vehicles to stop before continuing on. If my stroller had gone beyond the middle part of the crossing, I really can’t imagine what could have happened. The taxi driver knew he was wrong because he didn’t dare look at me after we crossed to the other end.
As u walk towards the middle of the crossing (where road divider is), u’ll see that at a certain angle u can’t really see oncoming traffic from the other side. That’s because at some angle, the green bars on the road divider overlap and form a green patch. So vision on oncoming traffic isn’t clear. If u can’t see the cars, then the drivers are unlikely to see u. Also, I think many motorist are still unfamiliar with this new crossing being there. I’ve given my feedback to FPS after the 1st incident. After today’s 2nd incident, I’ve given feedback to MP Cedric Foo. This traffic crossing may not be that safe after all.
This is fyi. Hope everyone stays well & safe : ) -
ABmom,
Thanks for the word of caution. Indeed majority of the students use that crossing. Hope something can be done soon. In the meantime, let’s be alert and careful with our kids when using that crossing! -

Anyone knows if there’s a form to sign for Sports day?
How about the time & event?
Walk past Frontier today & saw a school open house in 23rd May which I heard was the Sports Day.
Also found the timing for PTM odd and abit too short.
What do other mummies think? -
hi troubled,
The Sports Day form was given last week together with the PTM form.
For me, I think the PTM timing is reasonable…the teacher needs to meet 30 parents so its quite tiring if the timing is longer. -

In Primary School, they dun call it childcare service already. It is only Before/After School Care Service. In this case, Frontier only have one After School Care service within its premises called Kowabunga.
Here's the link: Hope it helps

I heard they need to ballot for the 20seats in this After School Care Service. Looks like all will need backup plan just in case cannot get into the Student Care.
