ADave, there are ups and downs and pros and cons.
All I can say is that so far, my son loves school.
The school does need to iron out certain kinks and improve in some admin areas, but so far it has been enjoyable learning for my kid.
Most important considerations for you would be convenience? And then you have to pray for a good teacher.
What else do you want to know?

My child also loves the school, enjoyed the lessons and activities; and has been counting down to school re-opens. Up till now, we are satisfied with the teachers and they are prompt in answering our queries.

Any parents need after school care can pm me for more details.

Pls enlighten with this new school??

hello. im glad that your son loves school! thats the most important thing rite?

location is not an issue for me as i will be driving him to school. whats more important for me, having good n responsible teachers! and secondly, the effort to bring up the school to help these kids to produce good results which resulted them to be on par with one of the good neighborhood schools. i am going to Westwood primary open house tonite.kabalevsky:

yes ADave, the love for learning is the most impt.
about academic results, the kids are only in P1 so it's hard to tell whether in 5 yrs' time, they'd be doing well at the PSLE. but so far, I haven't seen anything to be very worried about. not sure if that's a consolation, cos I think everyone's standard is different.
you can share abt westwood soft launch at the Jurong West Pr thread after you have attended it. i'm sure many parents will want to know more too.
thanks! -
I didnβt get it either. I was telling my DH that even if they open up all 50 slots, it doesnβt guarantee that I will be one of the lucky ones to be balloted in. Rather than getting worked up like my DH, I think it is more important to seek alternatives now since Term 3 is starting real soon. Afterall, there are just as many BASC near Frontier and I can pick and choose. Just my two cents worth.

Any ways to find out the BASC near Frontier ?

Hi kabalevsky,
The P and VP of FPS are strong pull factors. The VP is very prompt in replying emails and queries. She replied me personally each time. The P gave a good first impression at the soft launch. Of course, these are PR skills and may not reflect on how the school will be like in future.
But I believe that if the leaders care about the parents' concerns and take efforts to welcome the parents and make them feel involved, it is a good start.
Glad to hear read your feedback. I am a hopeful for 2014 intake. Just wrote an email to FPS this morning and been waiting whole morning for a reply. Hopefully i get a response without waiting until hair drop off
