      oh dear troubled. 😞

sigh. only 20 places. many didn't get in. i know a few who didn't too. and they're really in a fix now. most had placed their hopes on being able to put their kids there and made some temporary arrangement for Jan to June.

wonder if the authorities can lift the 50 cap?
Hi Kabby, I'm one of them too  now may need to ask my ds to wait at canteen till we knock off to pick him up 🤷

Actually they should release all the 50 seats, We parents were told that their school had future student care and etc...so We decided to choose their school but once our child enrolled to their school and ended up they only released 20 seats  this is something like selling without deliver!mad: just like a empty shell salesman... and those some of the office staffs especially the admin mgr not really that friendly is not the same as I met her during balloting at West Grove primary school, after all I very disappointed about Frontier Primary school management and MOE decision. Is seems like talk without deliver! is something like I had been drag into the pirate ship :imdrowning: ! sigh...one word i would like to describe I VERY DISAPPOINTED THE WAY THEY HANDLE ALLOCATION OF THE STUDENT CARE! FIAT I'VE MADE A WRONG MOVE VERY SAD. I WILL ASK MY RELATIVE TO THINK TWICE BEFORE ENROLL TO THIS SCHOOL!

:goodpost: AGREE!!! I'm now facing same problem with you. Student care is our MAIN concern to choose this school, as we are full time working parents. Now we are stuck....

        Precisely PeiPei,
in the first place, before parents enroll their child into their school they should let all parents know that their student care space is limited so this at least will let us have some ideas to deal with and not a sudden pop out decision to spread into three years intake and now we parents and our children have to suffer to their management mistakes! Frontier primary school and MOE decision are very irresponsibility! to their words of mouth. They deserved my criticize!

I wonder if Jurong West Pri Sch will have cap for student care as well? Cos I am enrolling my DD this Jul for next yr intake. Now am worry that if I cannot get into student care in Frontier, then what should I do? Both hubby and me are working parents, can be asking her to sit in canteen. No place to rest.

              Hi mummies,

My boy is K2 this year and i intend to enroll him in Frontier next year. My I know how’s the arrangement for your kids currently? I’m a FTWM and i was told that there were only 15 slots open for next year intake. Now i also troubled abt the kid’s arrangement next year.

Btw, any news regarding the school uniform? Still only the Polo-T attire only?

Hi, did you witness the balloting conducted last Thursday afternoon, I heard there were 64 \"fighting\" for 16 remaining places... (slim chance of 1 in 4!!) another four places were supposedly reserved for \"those truly deserving\" ones... it is really unfair to us parents who chose the school based on their \"advertisement\" of a after-school care... can we appeal to MOE?? 🤷

Oh dear, yes, perhaps if you all can band together, then maybe an appeal can be made?

I do remember that at the start, many parents said that they chose FPS due to the student care. Hence the school and MOE should have taken note of the needs of the parents and why they chose the school. THey have to work on the reasons parents chose the school and strengthen and validate those reasons while building up others.

Otherwise they will lose many potential students as well.

Hi, we didn't turn up for the balloting as we are unable to apply leave after had our leave taken on that day before for the school sport day as you know as a working parents we really can't take leave so often and also cannot afford to take so many days. 16 remaining places for 64 application??? something is not right it should be 46 for the 64... They are good in selling their product at the end we get empty shell...
furthermore school operated not even two months pupils asked to take back fund raising card to help to raise fund for the poor and and I believe many parents show their sincerity and try to raise as much as they can but at the end the poor get more benefit from the sandwich group I don't have the mean to discriminate the poor they do deserved to get help from the society but how about us sandwich group our SOS msg are falling into deaf ear... appeal to MOE do you think the armchair leaders will hear our voice?

                      Hello,

I was there for the balloting - for my nephew as my sis-in-law can’t take leave.
Total of remaining 16 vacancies are avail for 65 applicants.
My nephew didn’t managed to get in…indeed a great disappointment as the whole family is looking forward to it since day 1!

Btw, any parents engaging the school bus ? My nephew now have to take school bus starting Term 3 as got to go ‘outside’ student care after school.
We were told by the school bus operator that we must pay the FULL MONTH of JUNE fee as they do not allow pro-rate – not even ok with us proposing on paying half mth bus fee though we are only starting on 25th Jun.

Do understand that we need to pay for Jun & Dec mths for school bus, but, the case here is that we are starting only in Term 3 (25th Jun), why must we pay for the full mth of Jun ?
It’s not that we are engaging the service since Jan or a mth before…
Just because school starts on 25th Jun, we are required to pay for the whole mth of Jun just for a 5-day ride.

In order to find out whether this bus operator’s demand a norm, I’ve called nearby school bus operators x2 schools to check on how they charge for Term 3 new students - they told me that for new students starting in Term 3, they are charging ½ mth only as the students only start taking the bus in the 2nd half of the mth – which I find more reasonable….

Sorry but to say, am truly disgruntled….it is not the matter of paying xtra $20++, but, is a matter of “principle”!

Furthermore, the fee is also on the high side as I’ve compared it with my neighbours’ child’s school bus charges – their child’s school bus fee as below:
                      LESS THAN 1.5km\t: $45 / 2-way
                      1.5km – 2.0km\t\t: $50 / 2-way
                      2.01km – 3.0km\t: $60 / 2-way

but FPS’ school bus is charging $50 to $55 / 2-way - All FPS students are definitely within 1km as the balloting is for <1km only, and yet the charges is higher!

My Q here is that there is only 1 bus operator engaged by the school in which parents are given no other options – does this mean that we must ‘succumb’ to whatever the operator’s requirements/demands ?

Not sure any parents here can advise on how should we deal with this issue @_@!

I think can bring up with the school regarding the school bus. I don’t think a full month sounds reasonable either.
