5 weeks to SA1. I’m just focusing on one milestone at a time. I’ll feel overwhelmed if I think too far.

Anyone like to share what’s their strategy to help their kids prepare for SA1?

My neighbour's son told me he stayed at home after prelims. I was told nanyang kids also do that. But don't know how true.

SA1 Exam topics out today. One step at a time. Cannot think so far. SA1 first. Then Prelims next.
The heat is on for sure, just 5 months more to go πŸ˜“ πŸ˜“

What do you mean by \"stayed at home after Prelims\" ? I thought most of them will go holiday after PSLE & study at home before PSLE?

as there is still a period of time before PSLE exams after Prelims exams.
But the school allows that for such a long period of absence ?
Hi Mummies,

My son's school is using My Pals series.
For the Math SA1, there are many topics tested. :yikes: simply scary !!!
Not just the A textbook, but several from B book as well. This is only SA1 right ??

My ds SA1 topics not out yet, thus really no way for me to know whether are they behind time. 🀷

I am not surprise, all topics for all subjects are to be completed before SA1. Term 3 suppose to do revision only. Don't forget Prelim will be in Aug & PSLE starts in Sept.
The schools would rush thru ALL topics for P6 Maths for SA1,
after rushing thru \" Speed \" topics , they will swiftly cover \"Area/ perimeter of circle\".

so if term 3 is all about doing past year papers, stay at home for intensive classes with tutors better right ?

If he is absent from school, won't that affect his attendance? It will not look good in his report book, no?
It is actually compulsory for children to attend school unless there is valid reason provided...so unless you can justify his absence to the school, him being absent might be considered as a serious offence.

I wonder do schools allowed pupils to stay at home to do self study, let say after sch prelims ?
At least, Not for my gal's sch.
I remembered i could only get my gal to absent from sch
juz 2 days before her PSLE so that she could have more rest at home.

I feel that parents should not encourage their children to skip school πŸ˜•

Well.......it depends on the situation......
nothing compared to a well rested mind and body for performing well in all exams.....
We, parents know best the body and mind conditions of our children prior to taking the exams.
It is a true fact that these P6 kids are driven excessively by the schools,
drilling them doing tons of past yrs papers prior to the PSLE,
with some schs even up to the very last day...... :imdrowning: :siao:
i told my gal not to do anymore of those papers 2 days before PSLE,
so that she could have a clear and rested mind.
if the sch is understanding enuff, then i need not to resort to such action....
but i do heard of a sch which allows the P6 pupils to bring games to play the wk before PSLE ....?? :please:
