        Hi fightingmom,

It's a norm in school, even top schools. My kid did one compo in term 1 and yet to see it. Probably wont get to see it.
So far none in term 2.

How can students do well in PSLE compo with so little practice? It is difficult (or near impossible) to ask children to practise on their own at home. Even if they are willing to, the parents may not be able to correct the mistakes. So no choice but turn to tuition... Teach Less Learn More...

Hey, my DS is also one of the tortoise moving around slowly without knowing that time is precious. Sigh......really hate the feeling of pushing him every second. How sweet it will be if only our ds can be independent in their studies. :please:

Son complained to tutor he has NO life. I have no life too...mornings I have to plan kids' revision for the evening and when to get tuition work done. Have not gone anywhere except supermarket.

            Janet,

I just saw your note \"NO life\", Sounds familiar, as though we are enjooyyyyying ourselves doing this. I am just waiting for this PSLE to be over.

The way I define success for this PSLE year is that DS is well-prepared to do his best + our mother-son relationship grows. It would be meaningless if he's well-prepared mentally but physically, emotional & spiritually he's drained and our relationship deteriorates. I don't want to enter into DS' teenage years with him holding bad memories about his PSLE year & hating his mother. I want to him to enter into his teenage years recalling he was well-supported, loved and having confidence about doing his best.

              Beanbear, :goodpost:

My goodness ! :yikes: Just 1 ?! :yikes: How is your child's coping? Is he/she good at writing ? My DD is rather weak in her English. 😓

So far my ds can done 4 EL compo and 6 MT compo. Compared to last year this year more for these 2 terms. Can see some delay in getting back the marked compos from teachers.

4 EL compo ? That's cool ! Spoken to some mummies while waiting for my DD to be released from school just now. Some classes have already written 4 too! Seems that maybe the English teacher who is also the FT and Science teacher for my DD class couldn't \"handle\" ... this is bad, isn't it ? :scared: :yikes:

Guess we, parents, have to roll up the sleeves and help our children !

                      Fighting ! :rahrah:

Actually I was so sure since last year that there will be no vacation this June due to PSLE prep but when I see how hard dd works & the stress she faces (which we are unaware of), it pains my heart. The other day, she shared out aloud "you have no idea the amount of stress I face" & that broke my heart & set me thinking, ya as a mom & adult, I am very well aware of the stress of PSLE but am I truly aware of the stress that my dear child faces in school from her teachers & friends? And also her stress in managing & meeting our expectations of her? Yes, she is not even 12 yet but how should I expect my dear child to be able to handle all the stress as if it wouldn’t affect her more than it would on hubby & me?
