      Hi ,

Was reading some threads and saw this from the topic : Secondary School Openhouse 2012. For those keen to bring your DD and DS to take a look at some schools , I have copied the following details for your easy reference:

      Girls’ School
      NYGH - 19 May 2012 from 8am to 2pm
      MGS - 19th May 2012 from 8.30am to 2pm
      SCGS - 19 May 2012 from 10am - 4pm
      Cedar Girls’ School - 26 May 2012 fr 8am to 1pm

      Co-Ed
      DHS - 24 May 2012
      SST - 19 May 2012 from 8.30am to 4.30pm

Those schools that are not stated above, I guess you can just go to the school website to check out the details.

      Cheers !

        Hi Mummies,

May I know if it’s another BIG BIG jump from P5 to P6? Thanks.

My advice is to get your child's P5 subjects well prepared. There is still teaching going on for all subjects. SA1 Math covers a big chunk, though not all, but enough to kill ME.

Sorry, Janet. Really LOL-ed at this!

I agree with Janet. Major stress is P5 - especially uptill July.
When the child has conquered P5, P6 is not so bad.

Somehow I felt my son didn’t come to P6 academically prepared. If parents can build foundation in P5, P6 will be much better. Last year was hell bcos he failed Math the whole year.

For my son, it is Chinese. Chinese teacher announced his marks in class today and that he has one of the lowest marks in class since he barely passed. Well he can come back and tell me about it as if it doesn't matter. :frustrated:

Regret not doing something about his chinese when he was in lower primary. Now i don't know whether it's too late. But still have to push on.

                        Hi linden2000,

Nothing is too late. Take a good look at CA1 and SA1 paper which area your DS makes the most mistakes. Is it comprehension ? Compo ? Work on the weak areas. There is still time from now to Prelim and PSLE.

Don't give up without a good fight! At least at the end of PSLE, your DS can honestly say to himself - he has given his best so no regrets ! :rahrah:

                        Jia you ! :stompfeet:
