To all P6 mummies n daddies

Dont be disheartened or discouraged shd yr child not getting the expected results in the sch SA1 exams,
as in most cases, pupils do perform better ( some much better) in the actual PSLE exams.
Stay focus and work hard together with yr child.....
Draw out a well-planned timetable for them to do intensive revision or work on the weak areas,
Made good use of this June sch holidays......
      JIA YOU !!! :rahrah: :rahrah:

Hi fightingmom, I went to daiso several times before I managed to get it...this traditional type was out of stock for a while...so when I saw it, I grabbed 2...one is hen design. There is also another lemon shape. $2 only, what the heck.

I signed all the exam scripts just now as he had to return them...didn't flip inside to see. Hubby made a copy of each as I need to show the tutor.
Chinese tuition 2x a week - once for paper 1 and the other day for paper 2.
        hi Janet,

You mean the school won't let you keep the SA1 papers ? My DD is getting hers back tomorrow but i more or less know her marks liao.

Usually when i took back the papers, i will go thru first - to understand the mistakes made by DD whether are they careless mistakes or she did not grasp the concept well that's why wrong answer... then i will sit down with her section by section of the whole paper.

For Science, i find it is important to run thru the answers that teacher has given because from what i understand from DD, they just copied down from the transparency that teacher flashed in class. So i doubt she understands why the answer she has given was marked wrong.

Anyway, June is the time we all go full steam liao... SA1 is already over... Good result / bad result .. we move on. I told DD : I don't like to go into a battle without preparation and never give up with a good fight !

        :nunchuk: :nunchuk:

DS is so slow in getting anything done. It can really get on your nerves.

In terms of hours, he clocks tons of it but there is no quality in it. He doesn't put in 100% effort so the hours are often wasted doing everything extremely slowly and talking whenever he gets a chance to. I've told him many times, encourage him, used timer, motivation treats, scream at him etc. Nothing seems to work.

If going to his desk without urging and sitting there with books in front of him is a good boy, then he is. But if sitting at the desk the whole time without getting anything much done is a bad boy, then he also is one.

I tried very hard to contain myself this time, but today I just couldn't keep it down any more. My bottle cap popped! Maybe exploded. Maybe this doesn't sound like what a mommy should do but years and days of nagging, nagging and nagging... I really can't take it anymore.

I really can't understand DS. He puts in loads of effort but it's not good efficient effort. Basically he thinks that by sitting at his desk the whole day long, that's hardworking. I hope this is a wake-up call for him. If he still chooses to be in lalaland... ... ...this will be a very sad journey for him at the end of it all.

              I need a miracle!

All Mummies do not be disheartened . We still have abt 3mths plus before the actual PSLE , so let pull up our sock, jia you together :rahrah: n reach our goal all together :grphug:

Just tell our DC ,they only have to work harder for these 3mths plus to aim for their dream sch . And to look forward when after the PSLE , by all means they can play, eat or sleep for all they want .

Ok, son brought home all the SA papers today...what's done is done. So now, all the work he has to do will be timed. I put a red tomato design timer on his table...loud enough to scare day lights out of him when it buzzes.

                Speed and accuracy... šŸ˜“

:hi5: i also bought a timer last year to time my DD. This year she automatic takes out and time herself but usually she sets about 10-15mins earlier to remind herself to use the balance time to check through the paper.

Your tomato design timer sounds cool ... where you bought yours ? Mine is a simple one i bought from daiso

Janet! I like how u phrased it! Scare the daylights out of him! šŸ˜†
A tomato too! It buzzes you say? I most probably will go geddit from the IMM outlet, so i am almost sure u bought it there. šŸ˜‰ Can direct me to exact location? To find it easily when i am there... Dowan to waste time when i have to lug four kids around. Or mebbe better go early morning when girls are at school so i can eat snake for abit.

Fightingmom! I love u! šŸ’‹ Great tip on setting timer early thing (to check paper!).. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php Which type is yours?

I'm getting two TOO! So if they decide to slam crash one timer out of :frustrated:... šŸ˜†... then I have spare.

                        I SUPER LIKE !!!

Daiso timer : if you see the one you like/use, better to buy more than 2..just grab a few because the battery runs out fast and the timer often OOS.

We have most of the SA1 marks but no actual paper yet. I try to keep up a positive front for my ds but in the night, overwhelming feelings of stress and panic still hit me sometimes. :nailbite: šŸ˜“ :nunchuk:
