While it is sad when civil servants and politicians are revealed as less-than-holy men, we should be happy that these things are coming out into the open and not covered up to avoid embarrassment for the government. At the very least, the government is sticking to its principles that no one is above the law.

      mum42,

Do u mind to share with me who are the good teachers from P3 onwards as mentioned by you?
      Dear Mandy ,

It v difficult n not fair for me to tell u who r the good teachers as there r other good teachers i do not know as i only know my boy teachers fr E class only as both were in E since P2. And the teachers rotate every year so it yr child luck that year . Even thou the teachers r suppose to follow their students for 2 years but for my boy case only math n CL teacher followed thru for 2 years others was changed every yr due to various reasons.

I can only tell u who r my boy's teachers .My older boy's teachers all ethier left ,transferred or no longer teaches E class. My younger boy P3 teacher Mrs Chow went on maternity, p4 teacher Ms Han ,P5 Ms Han for first half of d year n Ms Tan P5 & P6 Math n Ms Ong CL were all super on teachers.

To me , esp the first two classes teachers are all super on cause the students are higher ability so they absorb faster n I can v firmly say the students r v attentive during lessons so d teachers can go faster n teaches more n explain more in depth .

Actually I can said most of the teachers r v gd n dedicated . For me a encouraging n caring teachers is more important as P5&6 children start their puberty so they r v sensitive n also P5 is d start of their stressful journey to PSLE. Hopefully it will not be as stressful after d MOE actions.

Hope I have answered yr question.

      Dear mum42

Thanks for the sharing. I guess every child is unique and you are the lucky one as you have a sensible and smart son. 😃

      Thanks Mandy,

Yes I am quite lucky in a way I don't really have to worry too much about my 2 boys academically caused they have good teachers esp from P3 onward. And next year both will be in d same sch again , so d older one can look out for d younger one. My boys r just above average la , they work hard only. ( cause mum :spank: :nunchuk: behind them. Haha)

Actually d sch n teachers played a big role caused when they go upper primary the time they spent in sch is even longer than they r at home. And if they r in d first two classes then u don't have to worry too much , they will automatically strike to better.

      Dear mum42

Congratulations! You must feel proud and good of your son's achievement.

Could you share with us how did your son manage his study? Did you send him for any tuition? What role do you play in his primary education?

      Thanks.
      Dear Mandy,

Thanks, yes I am proud of my boy . He,his schoolmates n teachers had put in tremendous hardwork for d PSLE.

Yes , I sent him for tuitions not because the school teachers did not do a gd job. They have done a fantastic job esp his form teacher n Chinese teacher.

firstly I am not v discipline in time management to actually sit down to guide him . So when I sent him for tuitions he is actually doing revision for 2hrs. I only sat down during weekend to teach him or go thru his practice papers. My boy is a v discipline , so weekdays he will clear his homework n do some extra practice paper fr me or try to clear some tuition works if he has d time if not will skip tuition work .
(Most importantly I do not want to stress him out as the sch teachers had already handed them tons of worksheets)

Secondly all his buddy where having the same tuitions . They actually go there to unwind themselves n the tuition teachers were fun n caring too ,so my boy always v eager to go for his tuition classes even after a long day in school.

I played d role of chauffeur šŸ˜† sending n fetching him fr sch n tuitions.

I have learnt these since my older boy PSLE n it worked for my younger one. Just listen n hug them a lot or just sit quietly next to the children when they do their work make a lot of different.

      Hi mum42

So yr ds must hv scored at least 250 or even 260 since he is in 6e. Congrats. Which sch is yr ds aiming?[/quote]
Thanks, yes he scored 260 n above. He has already DSA to HCI . My boy told me almost all boys who scored 260 n above r choosing d same sch as they are updating each other .

      Hi mum42

Thks for the info. I asked my neighbor (dd in 6e) but she said she was not sure of the highest score & how many scored above 250. Btw do u happen to know anything about which CCA on which day?

My boy also fr 6E. Only 1 of the 260 scorers was fr 6F , aii are from 6E. The name list of 250 n above was flashed on OHP to show parents n students.

Sorry I do not know d date for d CCA . But all P6 have to stop their CCA only those SYF n robotic or sport cca will continue till competition end . P6 supp class took up 3 days n 1 day HMT so only one day was for d children to slightly relax.

Sorry is 2 out of about 18 of d 260 n above were fr 6F.
