          Hi fifiyeo,

Sound like a fun read. Can share title of book & author/publisher?
          TIA.
Was recommended earlier by someone on this thread. It's \"PSLE Survival Guide for the Family\". You can pick it up from Popular and it's $14.90 if I'm not wrong.

The tendency for many is to load children with tons of practice papers and assessments. It might turn some pupils off from studying as it becomes a routine without clarity of purpose. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying don’t practice, but rather be focused about it. Take time with each paper, clarify why did he/she get a question wrong, also why did he/she get it right! Its always important to understand why something is right or wrong, it also gives pupil great confidence.

For those really weak in certain subjects, get help early. Especially for languages! Its amazing how many people come looking for classes / lessons in the last one or two months before the paper and say they want to do well for their language papers! Language skills are very wide and need time to develop.

                Hope that helps.

Parents must look out for their kids...encourage the child to speak up if he/she needs help early and not just 1-2 months before exams...tutors/enrichment centres can't do miracles. For past year papers, I usually ask my son to get certain schools/sections done. Then I'll file those he has done with corrections to read through again...no point just getting many papers done. Practice is definitely impt but must go through the mistakes and NOT make them again.

DS came home and said that his CL Teacher had asked his whole class to hand up resources provided by their tuition teachers, for her to compile and give out to the class. If this does not show that MOE is lacking in materials and methods, then I dunno what does.

                        This sounds so weird.
Or the CL teacher planning to quit and start her own tuition....so collating some good materials ?!?! :skeptical:
