The answer is the first option you mentioned.

My dd said the answer is 美国体操好手. The qn asked why were the residents surprised. The residents would not be surprised to see the 居民委员会主席. They were surprised to see the 美国体操好手.

This is qn 10 right? My dd said this qn is tough and her classmates have different answers...majority put 1 or 2. So what is the answer?

As you mentioned, majority out 1 or 2 so nobody know who is right .

Don't worry. My dd chose 3 at first and then she changed to 1. Half a class chose 1 and the other half a class chose 3.

For the last question of CL LC, a lot of people put 1 or 2. But I put 2 since they ask why did the old man NOT tell the old woman that there was a thief.


If the answer is (1), let the thief realise that he was discovered, the old man could just tell the old woman

(2) is more logical since the old man intentionally said that there was no thief to give the thief a second chance

I chose 1 since the purpose is to let everyone enjoy. if you choose (3), it should not be 告诉ing (informing) everyone that kids who participate actively will be happy. For that you can just have a poster...

I chose the 美国体操好手. This is because 居民委员会主席 is already the chairman of their constituency (or something like that) so it's not really a surprise. I think the audio did mention something about 与众不同的 person or something like that, can't really remember much
