Mama Mania:
Gosh, reading through all the posts give me the shudders as my DD will be facing this madness next year. I have been really thinking how to best motivate her to her best capability as she is very slow in her work and there will be a mountain pile of papers greeting her come January. If it is possible, really don't wish to go through this PSLE year, ever/again - never. :nailbite:
After 9 months of madness, you will get 3 months of good break. Take it as it comes, she will have to learn how to manage her time. My son felt very tired during the 9 months & now he complains boring due to no more homework, supplementary lessons or tuition. All kids & parents need to go through this phase. All the best to your DD for her PSLE! -

I suspect they reprint the books.
Banding table visibly missing. Also the cover is thin and grey compared with last year's nice thick green cover. Suspect they had to rush the printing because of taking out the banding. -
9 months of intensive coaching...that was really PEAK...this is the first weekend after PSLE. I kept to my promise by letting son play to his heart's content. After 2 days, he was bored...the sudden release from tuition and books was too much. We went out almost everyday...even though daughter will be having SA2. I can't face any more books.
Well, lets paint the town red...we really need to recharge batteries.
In the meantime, I asked son to coach his sister  -

Eeeeerrrmmmm. Maybe he's bored cos din go out with friends?? DS has been going to friend's house after school since Wed. They play network games, kick soccer, badminton, nerf guns etc. He would come back damn happy & then feel guilty leaving me 'alone' & would treat me extra nice at night, offering to play board games, watch TV, lie down beside me etc. Until I gotta shoo him off to have some 'ME' time. :rotflmao: :rotflmao:9 months of intensive coaching...that was really PEAK...this is the first weekend after PSLE. If I ask DS 1 to coach DS 2...hell breaks loose. They either play and share silly jokes or they quarrel and tear the house down! -

Wow, BeContended, your DS has so many programmes!!! & he's such a nice boy. Not all boys are so sensitive & considerate!!

Bought Guitar yday. DS said he want to take this opportunity to pick up some instrument. So will be signing him up for class. Maybe also to learn 3rd language... but he has yet to decide which to learn. -

I actually wish DS will pick up some skills/interest next 2 months. But looking at how much fun he has, think hard liao. Programmes - sure a lot. But sadly, think may be traits of a typical lousy neighborhood school. The kids are generally less concerned with their results. Near PSLE time, DS actually was a little shocked & asked me why are his friends not going home to study but loitering at playground after school. He also commented on the repeat students still playing & not studying despite a second chance.
On off, they would have sports, gathering etc. I only allowed DS to join max once a week. 2 weeks b4 PSLE to stop all cos he was getting 'distracted'.
It is so different from DD's Sch. She transferred Sch & for 2 years already, but only attended 1 farewell party. Her classmates are always in all sorts of tuition/enrichment or studying. Gathering was near impossible & they basically dun play (i think play to them is chess/violin/piano/orchestra etc). DD whined a lot over this disparity with the bro, she's very envious & often asked if she can join her bro. :gloomy: I felt bad for her but choice made to transfer, gotta live with it. During Jun, she was overjoyed when one of her classmates asked her out for a movie, first time. -
I am going to score real badly for PSLE cause all the ans i check is wrong.i will not get even a 2 A* and 2 A.i feel really bad like i let down my parents…
