It hit me when we reached home...my son cried in the toilet while I hid myself and cried. We just couldn't believe but it is a fact. -

Janet, be strong! :hugs: -
I feel like a smart Alec…telling you all about assessment books and yet don’t know why son had such results. Maybe I should leave this forum. I don’t know how to continue here.

Dear Janet, :snuggles: :snuggles: hugs to you and your son. We all know how hard both of you had worked. Now log off KSP, together with your son to do something together. Secondary school soon becomes a new chapter. In no time, students will forget this PSLE. Take care and God bless.

Hi Janet, I'm sure you tried very hard. It's not the end of the world and don't let it be.
I had to battle my tears and be there for my boy. Hopefully next year they'll grow up and do better. I'm sure our boys tried the best they can and that's what matters. In time to come they will blossom.
Although he cleared 4As t-score was low. He broke down in school after exclaiming \"how come like that?\". I swallowed my tears. We walked out of school with him in tears. -

Your knowledge abt assessment bks and your ds' results are 2 different issues.
Pls don't beat yourself up abt the result. You have done all you could for your ds. Your ds had also worked very hard. Unless you can see your ds' graded papers, there's no way you can find out why.
Move on to the next step, deciding on the sec schools.
All the best. Chin up. -

Your knowledge and your son's scores are 2 different issues. We are both terribly disappointed in our own ways. So are our boys. Unless we pull ourselves together, it'll be really hard for our DSs.
My boy has been looking very down. The usual super chatterbox is hardly producing any noise today. In fact, I can't even remember if he spoke more than 5 sentences during lunch / dinner. -

you had contributed so much to ksp. don't say that! :salute: -
Sigh… can’t go holiday liao. Tonight I got to look through that grey book and think about the choices. I can now throw away the previous list. Need to re-create a new one.
Sad to see DS so down. -
How to appeal to schools? Before posting results or after the results are released on 19 Dec??? HELP!

Your contributions in this forum have been exemplary and appreciated. This forum needs people like you.
Don't despair and stay strong for your children sake, although it is a hard thing to do after such a setback. Take this as an opportunity to show your strength to your children and show them how to overcome setbacks. So long as there is will and an eagerness to continue putting in efforts to improve academically and holistically, there will be light at the end of the tunnel. Remember life is full of ups and downs. So it may be down now but an 'up' may be around the corner.
Sometimes a 'down' like this can spur a child to greater heights. This may well happen. I know because I have a nephew in exactly the same situation but now doing pretty well and yearn for the 'O' level to come soon.
