Same here, FIFi, panda eyes, tearing hair, more wrinkles over this, hope no ulcers pop out. Hahaha.. Just submitted not long ago, major headache.. Meanwhile, can continue to de clutter the study room to ease the headache..Don't want to see psle books and files.. Until 2 years later 😢

Like you, I do not wish to see those books related to the 4 letters too...until 4 years later another round :frustrated: :nailbite:

Ha..ha.. Mine next round will be 5 years later. I predict it will be worse than this round. My younger one is very playful.
my case sama sama like yours...one O levels, younger one PSLE in 2016 and she is hard to handle :faint: This holiday, I am ramping her up before school begins.

it's because of all these gadgets now that our kids are not been reading as much...i have enforced a rule that kids have to ask for permission before they can use iphone and computer...if need be, i will put in password.
actually passed my iphone 3gs to son but realised he downloaded games and what'sapp his friends and using facebook. so i changed his mobile phone back to the basic model.

In secondary school, communication/discussion about projects etc is sometimes done through facebook and whatsapp. It's good to teach your child to be a responsible social media user than straight out banning bec he might need to use it for school.

One thing which we do in my family is one book per week. Be it from the local library or buy them from good book stores. The Popular bookstore only sells popular titles which may not be readable to begin with. Bookaburra and Kinokuniya stock up better books. We heartily let the kids choose their pick but also ask to do a book review. Quick summary of what they read and look up meanings of difficult words. Seems to be working well from their school results.

We also intend to get a mini iPad for them as they have smartphones. Wifi version only so they are made responsible for their mobile usage. No Facebook accounts before they turn 13. Online games are played in our iMac which is kept open in the family area.

                      Hope our experience helps.
