Earth hour is on again this Sat from 8:30pm till 9:30pm.

Last year, we switched off all the lights, but drove to a nearby mall for dinner. Defeats the purpose really.

With so much alarming news about global warming, rising sea levels and a very sick mother earth, we decided to be serious about showing our support.

So for that 1 hour, we’ll switch off all lights, mobiles, modems, fridge, TVs etc. Yes, we’re going all the way to make up for our foolishness last year.

Any suggestions on what to do during that hour? Perhaps we’ll spend the hour chatting/bonding with the stressed-up kids.

If the intent is to reduce carbon footprint for at least an hour, why is Discovery channel telling people to watch hours of TV programmes on saving Earth during the observation of Earth hour? :?

Indeed! What an irony. What would you be doing, chief?

I will shutdown all electrical appliances except for fridge in the house on Sat. Cant stay at home and do what CKS suggest in case make mistake. 2 kids are enough for me. 😉

Since Changi T3 has to remain up and running (with same carbon footprint), I will bring my family there for a walk and help them maximize their use of aircon. :rotflmao:

Make their kids do mental sums and recite 24 times tables lor. Perfect conditions to force kids to think in their minds because cannot see mah.
