I think there is only one model from Yonex. If they run out, you can try the kid's table tennis shoe (some chinese brand) in the shop. The grip is OK but it wears out quite fast.

BTW, I recently switched to Mizuno badminton shoes for myself (from queensway shopping center). They are much better than the Yonex ones I used, in terms of grip, and flexibility. Not sure whether they have the kids size though.

My DD would like to learn badminton during this upcoming Mar 11 holidays.

Anyone know of any school / coach who has this kind of holiday program? Preferably in the north (Yishun / AMK / Bishan).

If you don't mind travelling, there is a good 12-week course conducted by SBA -> http://www.singaporesports.sg/SCSD

Or you could go to http://one.pa.gov.sg/CRMSPortal/CRMSPortal.portal to search for CCs courses near your place. These are usually recurring monthly courses so once you find out the regular day/ time, drop by and take a look to assess for yourself whether it is good (some might have too many students).

Assess your kid interest with the above options. If he/she is keen on the sports after a few sessions and you want him/her to be a very good player, then consider getting personal/private coaching or joining a Badminton Academy. Most schools have Badminton CCAs too.

I wonder if anyone has feedback on this coach: Welly Tjia?

                        hi sharon1234,
You can check from the SBA website that he is an Accredited Coach. Note that he would have other coaches helping him especially if the class size is big.
I believe this is a monthly recurring course, so the best way to find out is to drop by and take a look for yourself before signing your child up. Take note of the class size (and no of courts available) and how the coaches teach especially the younger kids/ beginners.
