did she make many careless mistakes or not know how to do many questions?? the p4 paper is considered easy compared to p5 standard... the jump from p4 to p5 is huge..

if she doesnt quite understand her p4 topics, get her to revise thoroughly.. if she is clear but only careless in her paper, forget about revision and start to teach her p5 topics now..

i start by teaching them how to use the calculator first.. give them some questions for them to solve using calculator..
next i revise the fractions topic and teach them fractions division. if time permits, teach them simple ratio...

DS math had also improved, from 70s - 80s. i drill him with many problem sums, and keep practising.

i found that his careless mistake made him lost close to 10marks, will have to improve on this area
kiasu forum helps me alot me, i consolidated and type out many sums i got from here and print it for him to do

since u also believe in cultivating interest, try to get her to plan a savings plan.. like something that she wants to buy, but u dun allow.. make her work out how long to save enough by having a fix daily or weekly savings so as to attain her goal of buying that possession.

i make my dd plan for the grandma's birthday.. told her budget of $800. gave her names of restaurants and ask her to list down those within budget, and choose the best deal of all...

actually, i already have a rough idea where to go la, just creating more choices for her so as to let her learn her way...

Hi chloecube, u sounded like a very dedicated mummy.

Do you coach your ds on your own ?

This is something they can enjoy while learning something. Very good. Let me think of an assignment to my DD šŸ˜„
