            Hi

            Perhaps you may want to read the chapter on addition/subtraction of mixed numbers.

            3 3/4 - 1 2/3 ------2 1/12 (mass of a bag of salt)

            Best wishes

              Need help!

              A bakery produced 3000 loaves of bread.
              It delivered the bread to 75 shops.
              65 shops received 2000 loaves of bread altogether.
              The remaining shops received an equal number of loaves of bread.
              How many loaves did each of the remaining shops receive?

              I got 66 but got remainder as well.is it ok? Any key word need to look into?

                Hi

                Remaining loaves --> 3000 -2000 = 1000
                Remaining shops --> 10
                So, each of remaining shops got 100 loaves.

                cheers.

                    Hi,

                    Pse assist.

                    Every morning, Mandy delivered 28 packets of potato chips while her sister delivered 10. If they delivered a total of 228 bags, how many were delivered by Mandy?

                    TIA

                      I like to try this question:-
                      28 x 6 = 168
                      10 x 6 = 60
                      Total = 228

                      So Mandy delivered 168 packets.

                      I do not know whether is this correct so experts please correct me if the answer is wrong :thankyou: :salute: :salute:

                        :hi5: champ! I also thought this way, but hesitated to post, not sure any special method exist or not.

                        I learnt from the step- by- step Book by Simon, there is an exercise find out the last digit of each product. So in this qn last digit of total is 8, have to findout multiply by which number gives the last digit 8 cos other number 10. So it can't be affect the last digit when we add.8*6=48, multiply by 6 both numbers and addup and check
