      Hi,

I need advice on the following question.
      http://i44.tinypic.com/2j17fup.jpg\">

The answer is as follow :
      (a) Some tiny water droplets will form in the inner surface of pot A while nothing changes in pot B.

      (b) Pot B is a control to show that the liquid was not from the air in the plastic bag.

May I know how does the tiny water droplets form in pot A? Appreciate very much any advice. Thank you.

        Hi

The plant releases water through tiny holes in the leaves called stomata through a process known as transpiration. The water vapour condenses into water droplets when it touches the cool surface of the plastic bag.

        Best wishes

            Hi,

I need help on another question.
Q (a) How many stages does a plant have in its life cycle?
            (b) Name the stages.

            The answers provided :
A (a) It has three stages.
            (b) Seed, young plant and adult plant.

My question is : how about seedling? Is seedling not one of the stages?
            Shouldn’t it be 4 stages : seed–> seedling –> young plant –> adult plant?

              Hi

I have a copy of PSLE Science Guide, old edition (MC) and according to it; a seedling refers to a young plant.

So we can say that the life cycle of plant consists of three stages.

              Best wishes

                    Hi all

Need help on the below question, suppose to choose True (T), False (F) or Not Possible to tell (NP) for the question:

Some cells cannot reproduce to form new cells.

Appreciate anyone sharing your insight into this. Thanks.

The word \"Some\" means \"more than one\". However, I only know that red blood cells cannot reproduce. Unless I also include those dead cells found in nail and hair, then I can say that red blood cell and dead cells cannot reproduce and the answer is \"True.\" Or I interpret \"some\" to mean more than 1 cell though they are of the same kind.

I believe that the setter wanted the answer to be \"True\" but was not too sure if there are other living cells (besides red blood cell) that also cannot reproduce and conveniently use the word \"some\" in the question.

Appreciate anyone sharing your insight into this. Thanks.

Thanks atutor2001, after reading your post, I went to read up on the red blood cells from my DS science guide. You are right, red blood cell don't reproduce and the answer should be true. Thanks for the insight, will print out your post for DS to see... 🕺
