hi autumnbronze,
Hi northerstar :imanisland:
Bellamy's rice can be bought from NTUC Finest. They have other variations as well.
I give a mixture of organic and non organic food. It depends what is
available in the supermarket.
I do give Nestle cereal to my sons, particularly oats with prune and
cranberry apple cereal. In fact, my elder one loves the former so much
that he sometimes 'steals' some from his 8 mth old brother, at almost 5
years of age.
For pureed food, these are the combinations I have tried with or without rice.
Avocado and banana
Apple
Red pear
Mango and peach
Sweet potato and broccoli
Pumpkin and peas
Cauliflower, carrot and sweetcorn
Broccoli, carrot and potato
Sweet potato or pumpkin is the best first solid food to start, after rice cereal, in my personal opinion.
I am going to start him on tofu and yogurt soon. Still trying to find baby yogurt that I used to give my elder one. Can't seem to see them in the supermarket now.
And ohhh, I also bought the brown rice powder with ginseng for him to try too.

Hi northernstar,
Maybe it's out of stock???
Thanks for sharing the link. Some interesting recipes. I am going to try the avocado and kiwi fruit :hugs: and :celebrate:
BTW, if you can't make it to the library, I guess googling is good enough. As for me, I had invested some money into those books. -

Find it quite useful especially the part on what food to introduce at which stage. -
hihi, hav juz joined this forum…
I have not reali started my DS (who is turning 6mths) on solids other than cerals as i’m still giving him BM… i’m only giving him brown rice cerals… can i introduce him other food while giving him the cerals? or alternate days?
i’m gettin kinda worried cos my boi is onli 6.2kg… =( but birth weight is 2.6… -

You can add puree in his cereal. Just steam the food and blend it until very smooth before adding onto cereal. I have tried carrot, pumpkin, sweet potato, apple, pear… I use the Avent food processor which comes with instructions and just have to use one appliance to steam and blend. Usually I prepare over the weekend and store them in baby cubes (check out babyonline.com).
Since you are concern about his size, perhaps can increase feeding him solids? A friend of mine has successfully beef up her boy by giving him solids (including fruits and veg) 5 times a day. You may also consider giving him porridge at 7 months onwards. My 7.5 month old girl takes cereal for lunch and porridge at dinner. She weighed 8.3kg at 6 months and 8.9kg at 7 months so I am not going to increase her solid intake although she burns a lot of calories with her crawling, crimbing and cruising :0
