:thankyou: MandyMummyTresille:
My ds got through...was surprised  His teacher announced that 66 students from their cohort clear round 1

:congrats: to Tresille and ds! :rahrah:
All the best to your ds in Round 2. :rahrah: :rahrah: -
Congratulations to mickeyhmh, ASLMUM, and Tresille and their ds!
:congrats: -
so funny....my son suddenly so \"on\" ask me to give assessment books to do, and finished his school work in 30 min so that he can do assessment books....normally he takes 3 hours!!
Anyway, it's a good sign, though when i get home tonight, will still try to manage his expectations. He might be smart, but then perhaps not GEP material. Don't want him to be too over dissappointed when he does not get in. -
Is it true that this year’s intake for round 2 is bigger than previous years’? From the discussion here, it seems like it’s more than 10% for each school.

:congrats: Congratulations to all who have passed the first round!
My dd passed too, but I told her that there's still round two. And there's 4000 students competing for just 500 places! :xedfingers:
At any rate, she's in a school she loves, classmates she's happy with, and dh & I will always love her, whatever happens.
So all the best to all the kids taking GEP round 2. -
I think GEP schools always have a larger no. of students making it through Rounds 1 & 2. My ds from neighbourhood school doesn’t have so many, though it’s still higher than the national average of 22. I believe the numbers will all average out to around 4000 for this round. Anyway they are only selecting 500 for the next round, so that’s just 13% of those who make it through this round. Better manage our children’s expectations.

:congrats: :rahrah: ASLmum, tresille, gleemom and Laura02 and your DD/DSs
