I am thinking of sending my boy to Math Arena for their P3 MOT lesson next Jan and can’t seem to find more information regarding this centre.

Would appreciate any parents with kid there to provide some feedback on their programmes/trainer/centre…etc.

My main purpose is to stretch my boy who is good with his math and wondering which other math centres(Sakamoto…etc?) I should consider. I stay in Tampines.

      TIA.

my DS went for NMOS and now for SMOPS. He has scored well in his NMOS including few others who got GOLD . DSnever complains to go only for this tuition as he like the staff and for the stars they get as appreciation which they exchange for gifts 😆 .

Regarding Sakamoto , I did send my DS when I was in CCK. Their systamatic method is more for acadamic maths and little higher than that but if you are aiming for school competitions coming ahead than it is not the one you need atleast from my experience.

I wanted a bit stretched maths for my DS so put him in olympiad maths in math arena as they are under maths hub in BB which few friends recommended. Other centers I dont have details.

:thankyou: leeven. Your feedback is what I am looking for, very helpful. My purpose of considering Math Arena is the same as yours for yr DS. I guess I will just try Math Arena next year.

May I know which trainer your DS trained under in Math Arena? You can pm me if it is not so convenient to reveal here.

            Thank you.

Hi all, I would not be able to give comments of the other math olympiad training centres in Singapore as I did not make any comparison. My DS is currently in P3. I selected Math Arena 2 years ago primarily based on Math Hub's track records of medalists and its locality. And to tell you the truth, I am glad I made the right choice as my DS is able to develop his potential there. I was looking for a place that offers non-routine programme and a foundation for math olympiad competition. I got what I am looking for, or rather, more that what I was prepared for 😉

Joining the centre is indeed a turnaround as I was clueless 2 years ago what I should do with my DS who had a hungry passion for math. I wasn't looking for syllabus math. Due to the manager's and the trainers' sharp observation and dedication, they helped my child to achieve quantum leap in his progress. I give thumbs-up to their programme and trainers' dedication.

Environment? It is very homely and my DS enjoys going there early everytime before his class. The trainers are approachable and are within easy access. We could easily get instant feedback from them after every lesson if we wish to. They would attend to our queries promptly. My DS tells me often that Math Arena is his second home!

My DS often looks forward to the weekends not because it's weekend, rather it is because of his Math Arena class, haha.

PM you the names of the 2 teachers who currently teach him. Another teacher(not sure of the name) who came to teach for special round NMOS. Not to worry all teachers are equally good and experienced . 😄

You can talk to the center incharge Ms. Percis (hope I spell the name correctly , :xedfingers: ) . She is more helpful and she is herself good teacher too

KingRascal, appreciate your timely review/feedback. 😉 I can use this to request for funding from my CFO(a.k.a. Hubby) for this math course. Been trying real hard to come out with some good reason since this is not a typical math academic class(which can directly translate to better grade). I hope my DS will like it as much too.
                    Thank you.

Glad my input helps. To add on, if you look at existing math syllabus questions, there are at times a few challenging questions thrown into an exam paper which appear to be the formats of olympiad math. So I do feel that such training does help to a certain extent.

However, guess we also have to note that we should not expect these enrichment centres to do wonders alone ( and this applies to any sort of classes, not just pertaining to Math Arena). The child himself or herself must have the motivation to learn and we as parents should also follow-up closely with the centre and the child to track the progress.

Happy exploring.. Maybe I would \"see\" you there! 😉 My DS would be there to stay 😉
