Is Groupon a scam?

I bought a music program for my dd. Quality sucks and i had an argument with the counter staff. They treated us like some kinda of "cheapo". Honestly if they have done a great job, we would have stayed on. They kept changing teachers. the whole system is great marketing but sadly, the vendors ain’t doing themselves justice by doing a shabby job. Spoken to a few parents and the center and they were equally disappointed. Sigh

I think for product is ok but services, hmmmm… i have my reservations after that encounter.

Recently the company that suppose to do the car polish had ceased operation before i use the coupon. The notice was sent by groupon and they had refunded me the full amount.

I have had good experiences with their F&B but the worst and most horrible experience was with their Air Con deal rendered by dishonest vendor.
I bought the more expensive Air Con cleaning deal which included basic and vacuum cleaning. After numerous no-show appointments, two guys from the cleaning service company finally turned up. They brought with them a small bag with cloth and lubricants, no vacuums commonly used by professionals were anywhere seen (they later claimed that their vacuum was malfunctioned on the day of our appointment).
After taking a look at the compressor, they claimed that it is spoilt and will require repair. We did not buy their story so insisted they performed the service stated on the voucher which we have bought that includes cleaning, lubricating, inspection and vacuuming.
A few weeks passed and our AC became NOT COLD. we engaged a professional AC technician to have a look at our AC and to our utmost shock, the cause of the problem was because a starter was not in place at all. We called up the cleaning service guy and he admitted that he had taken our starter without our knowledge because he had thought that we wanted to repair it.
My goodness, we were shocked because we had never agreed to engage their repair service and at no point during the cleaning service had we allowed them to take away anything from our house.
The damage cost S$ 100.
We have since gotten a refund from Groupon for the deal due to the unsatisfactory service and horrendous attitude of their vendor. But Groupon ignored our claim for the damage which had cost S$100 by replying "Groupon has refunded your vouchers for the aircon service on xxxx. I think it would be better to contact the merchant regarding the item that was taken out of your air conditioner."
BY the way, the guy from the service company was rude and unacceptable and rather insulting because he repeatedly reminded us not to expect much from a cheap deal. -
Good things dont come cheap. Cheap things cant be good. It’s so true.
I do get some good deals.
As consumers, just have to be careful. Best to check 1st before deciding if you want to buy it. -

Hi, I didn’t buy from Groupon after comparing prices at GMarket. I finally bought an Ocher Deeper pan at $57.50 with 2 extra sealers and the pan was delivered the next day (this seller imports from Korea and stocks are kept in Singapore). Moreover they provide 14 days warranty for manufacturer defects. After receiving my pan, I quickly googled on "How to spot a fake HCP" and was happy that my HCP is authentic. Do shop around at GMarket as they offer better price with free gifts.

Just to update everyone. It took a little longer than expected. Groupon replied today - a little over a week - that they will be refunding the full amount to my choice of payment method. The customer service is prompt in updating me every 3 days.

For those who purchased the ice cream maker please note that the item has not arrived.
I waited for an hour before hearing the news. Luckily they are arranging for free shipment of my product as compensation.
Just received an email from the team that says item arriving on 10 Sep. more delay!
