      Ok I going to try

Primary 3 How To Improve Your Maths (New Syllabus)
      Author : Andrew Er
      Publisher : Educational Publishing House
      Level : Primary 3
      Item Code : 9789814218481
      Usual Price : S$8.90

      Hi plum-cake
Hope you do not mind me kaypoh...
You might want to consider the following book by Andrew Er instead πŸ™‚
I did a comparison between \"How to improve your maths\" & \"Maths Companion\" and i find that \"Improve\" is more for students to build basic
foundation. Compared to \"companion\" which has more variety of questions. You might want to drop by popular take a look πŸ™‚

This book is great. My elder girl has completed this book this year. She enjoyed this book so much as compared to PSP. Ha. She completed without me nagging. Not sure how is Andre er companion for p3.

I will buy this book for my younger girl who is gng p2 next year too.

oh may i know whether it is a gd idea to buy assessment books beginning of the year? Do the authors like to come up with some "latest editions" along the way?

Champion, i would like to ask if you have tried Terry Chew's Maths Olympiad Trainer Junior 2. I May use it as an alternative to Sundar's P3 book.
I would caution against using Maths Olympiad books for assessment. These books typically cover topics outside of the MOE syllabus and for those topics that are in syllabus, they are of an order of magnitude harder than what you can find in assessment books or Top Schools exam papers.
These Maths Olympiad books are good for children who have a very strong foundation in maths and problem sums and is motivated to learn new hueristics. It will discourage the weaker students.

There may be some new assessments books along the way.

But Main reason i dont buy all books at year begining ( more like in dec)
              1. The book maybe a little too easy - then makes it point less to do more of the simple stuff.
              2. The book may have be too hard questions and the child probably needs to go thro easier stuff first.
              3. we may want to buy books depending upon area of weakness as seen thru performance in tests.
              4. We may come to know of books that are good from friends mid way. But if you have dne your research ( this forum helps a lot) then probably ok

That said I have bought books that I havent used because i realise they are not wasting time upon.
Trail and error is the mantra

                        Hello!

Re. Andrew Er. I also find some of questions in some of his books too simple. H/r I like Andrew Er's Worksheets. Anyone else uses this? πŸ˜„

Also, any feedback on Challenging 4 in 1 Maths? I bought this because it seems to have some higher-order thinking questions. However I find the wording of the questions extremely confusing for lower primary.
