Maths Assessment Books
-
Hi ladies,
I'm starting a new thread on Math assessment books.
Do contribute your ideas. :celebrate: -
Hi plum-cake,
My son’s class is using Onsponge Math. He is in a class which is strong in Math and Science after his SA2 streaming last year. The teacher will ask the class to bring that book once a while as she has no time to get many questions done. -
Hi Janet,
My girl is in p2 and she is not that good in maths… but from other mummies I heard they are(my school) using it for good classes only. my school uses It’s own math book called "enjoy maths" on top of MPAH math book.
In June I ordered conquer problem sums and got it from onsponge (only p3 math book) to have a look. but I have no time to go through.
I saw a problem solving book by Longman at popular… -
my pri 3 boy uses this "conquer maths". The school asked them to buy and it was only used for the best 2 classes in the Level. The problem sums are pretty difficult.

Janet, :hi5: :salute:
:thankyou: for starting this new thread! :rahrah:
I will share & contribute more probably tml as books are at home & I am in the office

I bought whole bundle set of Fan maths last year. In the end, used 'heuristics', CA/SA and Jumbo 6-in-1. Speed maths not appropriate. Think will get step-by-step by simon eio. -
There are so many assessment books in the market. What criteria do you use when selecting them? Do you select them based on the publisher or author?

Hi
Before chanced upon this thread, i choose based on feel and look, the chapters covered (preferred topic by topic), type of questions (eg MCQ, fill in the blanks, problem sums) and lastly how easy or difficult the book is for my DD.
Now i based on the recommendations from the forum :boogie: -
I have Andew Er Companion Maths for P2 (which is topic by topic) and Fabian Ng Problem Solving Process for P2 (pblm sums only).
Conquer Math and Onsponge Math the same? Is topic by topic or only problem sums? My girl hates Fabian Ng book but i think is quite good.
