Ya w/o experience & is for two yrs contract.

But I din take coz that agency dun allow web cam therefore I choose another agency-Madam Silva Maid Agency & their new Filipino w/ o off days is $420

      Hi Jain,

Any idea on the rate for experience filipino?

My current maid started working for me last July. Her salary is $430. 4 years in Kuwait (1 employer) before coming to SG. No off day (she says is a waste of money since all expenses on her own during off days).

I heard from agency that maids with same profile as mine, starting salary increased to $480.

Hi… these rates all seem quite low.

I hired a new maid in January, her salary was already $500 (but she’s 2 years ex-saudi) and no hp no off day. When i transferred her out in March, my new maid (brand new, no exp, not even in Jakarta) was $460. They are both indo maids.

Perhaps my agency has been too expensive?

Was at beauty world shop n save and saw a maid agency.

4 maids with pictures and info on poster was put outside agency. Didn’t see nationality but noted pay is $410 +$20 n 1 day off monthly. I think this s the cheapest I’ve seen.

Just got my new maid. Transfer case (had been working in Spore for 9 months before coming to my place). $420 without off day. Originally was $400 wit 1 off day but I requested for no off day with compensation. So far she is still good (better than my previous maid whom I had no time to train).

You can go back to the agency you got her from.
Depending what is her current salary, you might want to try match the current market rate.

I renew my maid myself. I type out a simple agreement based on what is discussed and agreed with the maid. Then both of us will sign on it. She will get a copy of it. Any salary adjustment needs to be agreed by both parties. I increase my maid salary to $450 and this was like a year ago. Now not sure went up by how much.

The agreement can consist of the following details:

                    1. New salary
                    2. Any off day?
                    3. bonus if complete full contract?
                    4. New duties if you just had addition of family members.
                    5. Things you don’t like to see her doing all this while but you have been keeping mum. Good time to highlight now.

Finally, if you are willing to extend the contract that means this maid is not too bad so may want to go easy on her and no agreement may be necessary.

                      Hi All,

Please share if you have any advises/ recommendation:

My Indo maid contract expires 6 March 2013. She has 15 days home leave in the contract. She does not has the KTKLN card. Her WP expires 6 March 2013 and her passport was renewed in 2012 already.

If we decide to renew her contract, what are the steps to take?

Should I plan her home leave period to be last 2 weeks of Feb? so that I got 2 weeks allowance to renew her WP after she returned Singapore?

She don’t have KTKLN card now – how to apply for her or she can only DIY herself at Indo airport? Hers is Surabaya.

When she returned, I need to purchase insurance ? Assuming I purchase from NTUC income, the cheapest I get is $194.74 right?
                      http://www.income.com.sg/insurance/foreignmaid/index.asp

Then, I just need to renew WP online?
                      http://www.mom.gov.sg/services-forms/Pages/wp-online-fdw.aspx

Is that all to renewing her contract? Any other paperwork to be processed?

Another question I have is she wants to carry cash home or is there safer way to tt money home? She don’t have her bank account yet and is using her Uncle’s bank account. She is worried that they will take all her money and she returned penniless

                      Thanks in advance!

                        Just to share,

                        1. KTKLN card can only be made in Indonesia (their MOM office).
                        2. You must have an agreement signed at the Indo Embassy in SG to make KTKLN; and a valid work permit.

If I am in your position, I would speak to the maid and ask that she only goes home after the renewal of her WP. First, renew WP. Then, goto Embassy to sign the contract. And then she can go for home leave, get a 2-year KTKLN card, and come back to SG. Making the KTKLN card cost money, and there is airport departure taxes. Remind your maid not to empty her wallet before boarding the plane! I was told that loansharks prowls the airport to offer loans and pawning of valuables - for those that have no cash on them to pay for taxes etc.
