Thanks verykiasu2010 😄

So I guess different schools state different terms. If both schools state 'as his top preference/first choice', could I still fill up the DSA option form according to my preference? 😐

Is your son in GEP or mainstream?

I believe ACSI introduced this clause this year only. Basically they're telling the students that if they don't list ACSI as their first choice in the form, they're not getting a place. I don't believe any other school has this clause.

Has ACSI given out the CO letter already? Or are they giving it out only during the tea session once you confirm that you will put ACSI as first choice?

isn't it the MOE processing the DSA posting according to preferences made by the students ? can ACSI indicate to MOE's computer not to allocate the places to the students if they did not rank ACSI as first choice ?

i think all these is just academic discussion because at this stage, every students who received confirmed offer will get their first choice as no school has given out CO more than their vacancies available
Exactly what I was thinking. Because ACSI cannot instruct the MOE computers on how to allocate places once the CO is given out. That was why I asked if the CO letter had already been given out and if the parents had already indicated to the school a confirmation of their decision. In my opinion, once the official form from MOE is given out, you can indicate any school during the school preference exercise stage on the internet and you will get it, even if you put it as second choice (and didn't get your waitlist first choice.)

        Hi,

DD received her CO for NUSH yesterday at the tea session.

It had the clause too. And was surprised.
        :?
So say u have Waillist for another school, you cant put that first then NUSH??

NUSH is NOT part of the MOE posting system, while ACSI is still part of the posting system

NUSH is not part of the S1 Central Posting system but is part of the DSA school preference exercise system.

          true!

But they told in yesterda's session that we have to put in our preference in the Preference form Oct25-29 thru the primary school .

I think that are not part of MOE PSLE posting but for DSA its the same as others. Got to clarify.

NUSH Ksper , pls shed light :?:

          bit blur today

they are all trying to exert pressure ......

normally there is no communication after the school has sent out the CO letter......and the sec school will notify the pri school and moe; and students just tick accordingly on the internet comes Oct, after PSLE.

and if the students qualified / has secured CO based on his / her merit, why the need to arm twist the parents at the tea session then give out the CO Letter.....sounds like black mail to me....rather not choose the school then

              bit blur today
For the DSA School Preference Exercise, you can either indicate your preference directly via the internet, or through your primary school via a form. As the NUSH date of Oct 25-29 is the same as MOE's dates, I believe NUSH is taking part in the same exericse. In which case, you should be able to make your choice of school (NUS included) via MOE's website.

Based on the stack of papers issued by MOE via the primary school on the DSA process…there is no duress on which school to choose

A confirmed offer is a confirmed offer and students should just choose accordingly, based on their preference

Technically speaking, every one would get their first choice - unless the waitlisted school is put in as first choice - in case nobody gives up, i.e. all CO got accepted … unlikely, though possible

Yah, this sec school informing the pri school step - *sigh*. I noticed in my ds1's school, all those(mainstream) who got DSA (not many - only a few) and were going to other sec schools as opposed to their own affiliated sec school, did not get their MOE awards for their CCA last year. It's too coincidental. All these few boys were very active and key performers in their cca. They gave the awards to the less active boys instead. *faint*.

okay, but that is a separate matter from school preference based on DSA confirmed offer. Sec school only notify the pri school who have been given CO, but not told and won't know who has accepted those CO

Did anyone from mainstream receive CO from ACS(I) yet? My friends say they didn't hear anything from the school? :?

My child's in mainstream. Actually, the clause ''as his top preference\" is from RI. I understand from some that ACSI wld only give you the confirm letter if you agree to place them as first choice. Sounds really odd. No letter yet, just tea session in Sept.
