How is learning point science? Good?
Can you share the fee info?
Thanks. -
My DD had been w MS science since p3,p4. since end of term 2 they had been doing & doing worksheets only in the class. DD didn’t improve at section B answering as the teacher only let them copy down answers, which I think I can just buy past yr exam papers for her to do then…Consider to withdraw end of the term.

I find my older one benefitted more, but again every child is different. The notes are good, so far I am satisfied with them for science. -
Thanks N.lo.
Mindstretcher registration op phase one begins in two weeks time, so existing parents has until then to decide if want to continue. -
If you can teach your kids yourself, will you still send them to mindstretcher?

I hve alwy like MS coz of its comprehensive notes, difficult worksheets & affordable fees. But somehow, when my gals reached upper primary, (that's whn they hv their own opinions), they dont like MS coz they say their teachers dont explain much, they simply distribute worksheets. I tried to convince my gals coz budget v tight w 3 kids! But w the fees increase, I will hv to thk twice.
Exactly this is how I felt since beginning of this year with my P5 gal..the questions were very challenging for average ability students and the teachers really do not help much in explaining the details. I spoke to her teacher and she explained that they had to finish all the worksheets within the schedule and therefore there is no time for them to go through in details with 15 students. The timetables are scheduled back to back hence they need to clear the room for the next class and unable to stay back to clarify the doubts with the students ..in the end my hubby and I are spending more time going through those worksheets with my gal. We feel that we are spending 80% of the time going after those 10-20 marks. For English, it is the same thing..I engaged a private English tutor recently and my gal told me that she preferred 1-1 teaching..as tutor focus more on her writing techniques, and she can clarify her doubts immediately
We decide to drop MS after this year, not so much on the fee increase but we want to utilise our time more efficiently..next year she is taking PSLE..a tough decision..but I hv hubby's support..
I have another P4 (next year P5) kid..also attending MS English and Maths. As we know P4 will be the first batch taking the new English paper for their PSLE, seriously I do not know how they teach English in school anymore without textbook and therefore I do what I can to send her to tuition center. She finds their English paper easily and enjoy doing their compo writing. As for Maths, she is very lazy and refused to do revision on her own, so sending her to tuition center to let her set aside 2 hours per week for maths revision. Her current math class will be withdrew next year as they have shuffled the class to evening and weekend slot..totally understand why cos the current class only has student size of 7..not economical for them to continue with this current slot. #2 indicates that she enjoys MS teaching cos \"teacher is not as naggy as mummy\" I will probably let #2 continue with MS for both subject..but thinking of queuing for registration at MS is a nightmare esp when I have to fight for the weekend slot now.. -

My boy will listen to me (obviously there are some days when I am fuming mad with his nonchalant attitude) and I have been teaching him all along. He has pretty good results. But he keeps saying that his classmates are attending mindstretcher so he wants to join them too :faint:TheAnswer:
